Do you have a childhood sweetheart with whom you are still friends?

When I was fourteen I had my first date. I went to a play and a stamp collecting show with a boy from my church and neighborhood. We were friends for many years and still are even more than thirty years later. He took me to the Christmas Ball in high school, my first formal. He also took me to my junior prom, which is about the sweetest memory I have. I guess you could say we "dated" for about seven years. His school didn't have a junior prom but for the senior proms we were having a fight so we each went with different people. The funniest part of that was we exchanged pictures of ourselves with our other dates afterward when we made up and admitted we could have had a much better time with each other. Also, since we were going to separate schools we could have gone together to two different senior proms. Boy, did we blow it. As life would have it, we didn't marry each other but we have kept in touch for all these years with no problem on the part of our families. We sometimes email, sometimes phone, and sometimes use messenger to chat, but not often for any of these. However, whenever we get in touch with each other we can pick up and laugh and talk just as if we never left off.
