Fashion Designers Kill Dogs

With all of the recent media surrounding the disclosure that faux fur is sometimes actually dog hair, I thought I'd post some hints on how to tell faux from canine. If an item of clothing is marked "faux", part the hairs of the fur. With faux fur, you'll be able to see the fabric it's attached to. With real fur or dog hair, you will see the skin attached. Real fur or dog hair is agitated easily by the wind. Blow gently onto the fur. Faux fur will barely move while real fur or dog hair will really move around. If you can get away with this last tip, I'm all for it. Pull a few strands of the labeled "faux" fur out and burn them. You've burnt your own hair or eyebrows before, we all know what real hair smells like - gross! True faux will smell like plastic burning. I want to note that I do know the media differentiated fur into four types: real, faux, dog and raccoon. As an animal lover, I say there are three types, since a raccoon is a wild animal and in my opinion, should be classified as real fur. It completely disgusts me to think that there are dogs being murdered simply for their skin, to satisfy the spoiled fashion designers who overcharge for their clothing. I am all for freedom, but I do believe the clothing industry needs some strong guidelines and laws there! What do you think? Do you think the clothing industry, as a whole, should have guidelines to follow in regards to what they can and can't use in their designs?

Ewwwww!!!! I have never heard of this! This is terrible. That is so gross. I never really wear fur, real or faux, so I don't think I have ever worn it, but that is just horrible. I think that there should be guidelines in what they use, but I also think that they should always label the contents as well, so people know what they are doing.
