I personally don't put my seat belts around me while driving. I know that everyone has to put it on while on the road but i don't feel comfortable doing it so. Here in our country, you don't see all people driving with their seat belts on. How about in your country? DO you have strict rules regarding your seat belts while driving? :)

I'll admit, I don't always put on my seat belt. I used to do it all the times until I was driving this car that didn't have working belts. Sadly, I got into that habit and only remember if there's a cop around or if I slam on the breaks.

If we don't have our seat belts on we can get a huge fine for it, double the normal rate if there are kids in the car and someone doesn't have their belt on. They just passed a law that they can pull you over for not having a seat belt on, before it used to be that they couldn't give you a ticket for not wearing a seat belt unless you were pulled over for some other offense.

Hey.....this is the most important safety measure I feel that each one of us should follow in our lives. This rule of putting safety belts while driving is all just to keep us safe from the unfortunate incidents. I personally feel and suggest my family and friends that while you should be driving or just sitting on other seats in the car, but they should always had to put the seat belts around them. Its all just for our safety man, only we will be getting cured by doing so.....

I always wear my seat belt, It's illegal not to and if one of your passengers isn't wearing one then you can get fined for that too. Seat belts are not there to be comfortable, they are there to save lives. I've had a friend killed in a car crash because he wasn't wearing his seat belt. I think it's just lazy and irresponsible not to wear one, especially if there are children around

Yeah, fastened my seat belts while driving already become a good habit to me. In my country any one who never fasten seat belt while driving will be fined about 45 us dollars for violation of traffic regulation.

In England the law is strict and you get fined for not wearing one. My mother in law years ago before the law came in was going on holiday, they went in a taxi to the coach station, it was about 6 am sunday morning and the taxi driver instead of stopping at the bottom of a hill to check the road he was turning onto just assumed because of the time there would be no one on the road. At the same time a car travelling on that road was going pretty fast as due to the time there was no other traffic on the road. The taxi pulled out in front of the car which of course hit it at speed and a woman passenger in the car went straight through the wind screen. My mother in law could not get over the shock of the woman screaming about her face as it was obviously cut to ribbons. If she had been wearing a seat belt she would have been OK as no one else was injured. It is a law that has saved a lot of bad injuries since it came in.

We have belts behind for cars in Singapore too. No everyone obeys the rules though... quite often, only the driver or at most the passenger in front is belted up. The ones behind will just make merry hoping nothing will happen. :P

I never used to. Once I got my own car and liscense I stopped completely. But about 3 months ago my wife was in a car accident, she was hit by a drunk driver and broke both her hands. He was fine of course, thats the way it usually goes. But I am a lot more careful when driving now and I almost always have the seat belt on now.

I always put my seat belt around me whether I am driving or I am a passenger in the front seat or in the back. It just do it automatically. I do it for my own safety and also I wouldn't like to be given a ticket! It's so easy to put it. In the US the seat belts are mandatory and if you don't put it on you get a ticket. It's obligatory for the person who drives and also for all the passengers.

I dont wear mine all that often because when i was 13 years old my family was in a terrible auto accident and if i would have been wearing my seatbelt i wouldnt have been alive today because they said it would have crushed me underneath the van. So thats why i dont wear mine.

we always wear our seatbelts. a few years ago, if you got pulled over by an officer and you didnt have your seatbelt on you got fined. but they couldnt pull you over for not wearing your seatbelt only. now, they can..and the fines are much higher..couple hundred now i think. not only is that an incentive..i really dont want to have to pay a couple hundred PER PERSON in my car that isnt wearing the seatbelt..but it just might save our lives.

before it was the law to wear seatbelts and my father was teaching me how to drive, he insisted that the first thing I did when I got in the car was to put on the safety belt. then adjust the mirrors, etc. So, yes, I do - I do not feel comfortable without one one. While I do think it is important to wear a seatbelt I do not think it should be enforceable by law. I think it should be our choice whether or not we wear one. A driver not wearing a seatbelt puts only himself in danger...so then we ought to outlaw so many other things too... too many freedoms are being taken away from us because of "health and safety" laws.
