No matter what kind of jobs or field you had, which one do you prefer. Working inn your own room (private room at office) or sharing room with others. Which one make you comfortable to maximizing your potential?

I do prefer having my own office - it is hard to get the work done when there are interruptions from others. I have shared an office before and I never liked it. I prefer to have my office where I can close my door and get work done. That is best for me but I know some people may like to share space or have a cubicle where they can call out to other people and talk to them.

I think, in education field, we share the same behaviour. Work while nobody around is more efficient than else. It's something normal i think. What do you think about it booboo? You know what, i always go to my office at late night to finish my unsettled thing :) it sound weird right..

no booboo, i never heard about that. One thing i know about any university is, everything happens in there is confidential, only certain thing should go to public. Am i correct booboo, because it will affect to university reputation. What a terrible to hear that booboo. World today is not something safe to live right, Even at the university. Can you tell me the detail booboo because i don't know about that.

Private room is always better. No one will distract your attention. You can concentrate on the job more effectively. If you need help you are free to call anyone in or you can go to anyone. If you sit in a common room, if you work hard, others will be jeleaous of you. They will try to disturb you during work and you can not avoid them. Hence, if one wants to show more output private room is better. If one wants to pass time with out active work common room is OK.

I totally agree with you gsnarayanan. It's just what i feel while working in my own room. I feel great while working like that, not because cannot share with others, but it's something others will get jealous if we do something more, and the disturbance like talking and chit chat mostly distract our focus. When i get bored then i will go to others room for release my tension :) happy lotting day

I guess you get wrong with my topic, the topic is asking either you prefer sharing room while working or not. For me, i prefer working with my own room at my office. :) anyway thanks for responding my friend

Sorry, but i didn't get that wrong. When i said "i prefer to work alone", i mean that i prefer to work privately, but of course, there are times that some are task to be done by a team/group, for better communication we stay in the same room. there's no problem if i have companions working with me in the same room..

I'd much rather have a private room to work in. I work the most efficiently when I have no distractions.

That's right my friend, sometime we have to focus more on jobs we're doing. So distraction is unavoidable when we shared the room. No matter what kind of distraction, as long as we cannot concentrate on our jobs, it's something bad for a worker right :) somehow, i do think most of the puople will consider private room, or owning own room for working.

I can manage to work in my own private office or with someone beside me. Downside when you're alone is that you tend to be sleepy even before your shift ends. Meanwhile, if you're near someone, distractions are always there.
