It's time for jury duty

Tomorrow, I am going to jury duty for the second time in my life. It would be the third, but I had already moved to a new state by the time the old state called me (odd, isn't it?). Last year, I was called in the "new" state (had been there for 5 years, though) and then, shortly after moving BACK to my hometown, I was called again (even though I had yet to register to vote here again, which is how they call you). ANYWAY, so I'm not exactly happy about it, because I've had health problems lately and am worried about doing any amount of walking. Also, it may be up to 2 weeks (the other state I was called for jury duty in was just 3 days, max!). Nice thing is that it pays more. :P Have you been called for jury duty? Have you gotten out of it? Do you enjoy jury duty? Dread it? Do tell.

I have never been called for jury duty it is so interesting and odd that you have been called so many times like that.

Isn't it though? I guess I've got the same luck as my SO's mom... She gets called nearly every year, while her husband has never been called. All the luck of the draw, I suppose.

I have never been called for jury duty so I have no idea what all it entails. I am sure that if you have a medical condition that prevents you from doing a lot of walking they can postpone it or get in touch with you at a later date.

I was called in for jury duty the year before last . I did get out of it as I sent in a paper explaining as my husband was the one who worked in the household he was the one who used our vechile and that I would have no way to get to and from where we needed to go as I didn't drive in these area's either as it was almost two hours away from where we live . I also explained that I had little children at home and had no one to watch them and sent it in like that . They had no problem letting me off and a friend of mine did the same thing . We did not want to be picked and have to do this as it would have put us out money we couldn't afford to dish out as it was going to cost a lot on travelling expenses and then if we had to find someone to pay for babysitting expenses and I don't trust just anyone with my children , and so really didn't have anyone . We had agreed that if this did not work then we would have to take the children in with us , not sure what they would have did if we did this but the truth was neither of us had anyone to watch our children . My husband was also picked a few years ago and sent in a paper saying he was the sole provider for the family and without him working we would not have any money coming in for all of us to survive on and they let him off as well . There should be a paper with it about health reasons and all you have to do is get your family doctor to put something in there about the walking being too much for you and they will let you off for this reason as long as you get it mailed out in time . Best of luck !!
