Anybody Else Tired of April Fool's Day?

I may well incur the wrath of my fellow myLotters for asking this question, but is anybody else glad April Fool's day has come to an end? It irritates me that sites like slashdot.org, reddit.com, and plenty of others turn from reliable news sites into silly, joke-filled places for the day where you have to think twice about every article you read since it's likely they're going to be jokes. I managed to avoid being directly pranked today (always a bonus) but the jokes just feel like they're getting duller and dumber every year ... anybody else think this "holiday" needs a retirement, or am I just being a cranky old fart?

When I was younger, I thought April Fool's Day was the greatest thing in the world. But now, as an adult, I find it a boring waste of time that could otherwise be spent enjoying the people and things in your life that you enjoy. So many terrible things have happened in this world in the last few years that it seems this just has no place in my life anymore. It just isn't funny to play rotten, silly tricks on other people anymore. So maybe I am a cranky old fart too then, but I agree. It just seems like such a silly way to spend any time, and better things could be being done. Also seems like a waste of space where actual newsworthy stories could be posted on those sites. Just my two cents.
