Did you take your husband's last name?

I was just answering a post about screen names which made me think about my own and the reasons for it. After a bit of internal debate (I didn't tell him for some reason) I decided to take my husband's last name and I was wondering about the rest of you. Did you keep your own or take his? Did he take yours?

Before our marriage only my husband told me that you dont need to change your last name. Maintain your own identity and hence I havent change it. My laws ask me todo so that the kids have the last name of my husband. But I said that children will have husbands last name only, not mine. But I dont want to loose my own identity.

That is such a nice thing to say. You've been married a long time so the emotions must have lasted. It's so wonderful when that happens.

Too funny. But with eight kids it probably gets rid of the confusion. :)

I definitally want to take my Fiances name when we marry. I dont like my last name, for personal reasons, and I really love his family, and his name, and I feel the wife should take the mans name, so im going to take his name.

I'm glad that you get along so well with your fiances family that you are proud to take their name. Best of luck with your marriage.
