Do you prefer to reply to a discussion that is not replied to yet or otherwise?

I think posting in a discussion that is quite untouched is easier as there won't be any copying of ideas. Come on and share your preference.

I actually prefer "discussions with no responses" or some discussions under "recent discussions" with fewer responses, because I tend to read through all the responses before I respond, in order to avoid repetition (and sometimes the poster would give additional comments on the discussion for added information or for clarification), and this takes a lot of time and sometimes eyestrain. Another thing is that, in my opinion, there are some better discussions with fewer or even zero responses, than the ones under "hot topics". What I mean by this is that I like using my mental faculties better, than having to respond to trivial discussions (sorry to say this). Lastly, there's a greater chance for one's responses to get noticed when it's up there than when it's on the last pages. Happy myLotting!

= i prefer a discussion that im interested in.. so that i have things to response about.. i dont care if its similar or same as other that have responsed.. those similar responses could also mean as a statistic that majority feels a similar way.. special responses just marks that people do have different opinions..

Well for the most part I prefer to post to ones that don't have pages and pages of responses. I want to think that my input will mean something and after so many others I have to wonder how different or unique mine might be. I have posted to some with lots of responses but overall I try to find them when they are new and need responses to get going.

I go sometimes to "new discussions" and reply to freshly posted discussions, maybe many people will respond later on but if my response is one of the few first the ideas will not be repeated as you said, I usually hate to respond to discussions with more than 20 responses but it doesn't stop me if I like the discussions or if it was posted by a friend.

Yes, and the longer it goes the more repeated the replies are.

I don't mind being the first one to answer and I don't mind being the last one or something like that, but I think people that answer before others tend to read other people's answers and sometimes they get influenced by them (it may happen) and when you're the first there's nothing else.

I think people do read the whole discussion before answering. I agree that after reading some post you tend to agree its right and include it in your answer, but being the last of 7 pages means you have to check through 7 pages of response to ensure your answer is not repeated. You don't mind reading all 7 pages?

I usually prefer discussion with no or less responses and discussions started by new users aswell,as i am new myself here i want to acknowledge and support new people around here so that they dont get dishearted, that one response their discussions,i always try to give some detailed answers and lot of acknowledgment so that it will be a confidence booster for the newbies. Other than that as you have said there is alot of oppurtunity aswell for the answers as there is none or few before,so wide area to be explored is available.

If I'm not the first, it doesn't bother me. I usually don't like to respond to discussions with a whole lot of responses. Most people don't read beyond the first couple of pages and I rarely get acknowledged by anyone if I respond after 50 other people have.

It does not matter to me whether I am first or last. I just like to respond to subjects that are interesting to me.

I think being interested in the matter "reduce" the amount of pages there are in the discussion. Thanks for your opinion!

I have my own methods of finding discussions here in Mylot. I think it's the best way to find the best topic I want to respond to. This will help you save time from navigating unwanted topics. When I am going to start posting, I first check the new discussions. It contains fresh topics that are usually for general discussions. Next, when I have nothing to do, I check the discussions included in my interests. There are lots of good stuffs on it where I can easily give my own opinions. Next is I do searching discussions using the Mylot search quiries. It's the best place to find topics which are hard to find by navigating the site. Lastly, I visit other members profile and replies to their discussions started. This strategy always works good to me indeed.

i 100 percent agree with you , i also do that sometimes but then i sometimes enjoy giving responses to discussions of my interest but i take care that too many people have not responded to it. its a bore then, (according to me).

I think when i see the second page of replies i lose interest too. Unless i'm very interested in that topic. otherwise reading through all the replies is boring.
