Yes, it is true. I actually managed to save 145.96$ yesterday on my weekly grocery trip. I buy two Sunday newspapers every week, and I search for the best deals - that is how I did it. Combining sales and coupons gets me very far. My savings this week: Winn-Dixie Reward card and advertised savings: 30.09$ Manufacturers coupons: 13.79$ Gift Card 10.00$ Total Savings at Winn Dixie 53.88$ I received the gift card through a General Mills/WD promotiion in February. Publix Advertised savings: 16.67$ Manufacturers coupons 9.00$ Total savings at Publix: 25.57$ Walgreens Advertised savings: 7.70$ Manufacturers coupons: 6.75$ Total savings at Walgreens: 14.45$ Total grocery savings: 125.29$ My family is also eligiblie for WIC WIC Savings: 52.06$ Total grocery savings incl. WIC: 145.96$ My family has a very tight budget, so I would like to know, if any of you have any additional tips on how to save on grocery shopping. With two children using diapers we currently have a weekly grocery budget of 100$, and mostly I get it down to 80$. How can I save even more? If any of you have any saving tips, I would really love to hear them. Thanks

Thanks for the nice response Margieanneart, I sure hope you can use some of my tips. I love to help other people save. I really do save a lot of money every week, and I do not know, how my family would be able to survive, if I did not make a conscious effort to save on groceries and every other way possible.

Wow! I wish I had your shopping savvy! Honestly, you are doing a really great job and I hope that you keep posting your shopping successes, cause it's a topic that I am positively obsessed with! LOL! I love saving money. As a mom, too, it's not just fun, it's a necessity. I have one who is still in diapers; well potty training. So, I know what your bills must be like for diapers. As far as big kid diapers go (size 6) your best bet for savings is the Walmart. They give you lots of diapers for a little price. They have a save-a-lot grocery store in our area that we use often for basics like tissue paper, and household necessities. They're way cheap. Maybe you have something similar in your area. Here's a coupon website that I just found and plan to use: http://boodle.com where you can print coupons for name brands you might use. Another money saving technique that you might use is the price match policy that some stores like Walmart have. You just bundle all your various weekly grocery store papers together and shop with the one store, and they give you all the deals that were available at the various stores around town. That will save you time and gas. Keep up your good work. With little ones in your house, you have way more expenses coming your way. Best of luck with your journey.
