starting a new discussion

I have noticed...since the imfamous unveiling of the new myLot, when I start a new discussion, the number of my messages will not change. Has it always been that way, and just didn't notice it? or is this a change? I think this discourages one from posting new discussions.

I would think you got credit for posting. Did you try refreshing your page?

I didn't know what you were talking about and now after I posted a new discussion I noticed the same. My rating number didn't increase! Maybe it has always been that way. However, this does not discourage me from posting new discussions because I'm sure we earn from starting new discussions and also from the answers we get for them.

Thank you and to all of the others who responded and encouraged me. I appreciate it. Yes, I believe it does have something to do with earnings. And, I will continue to post new discussions because I like the know the information which is shared.

Yes, respondent #2 is exactly right. Your number doesn't go up when you respond to discussions that you've started. But, you still get paid for it and you also get paid when people post to it. You'll notice the difference the next day when your earnings are tabulated.

Hi, bgerig. It has always been that way. Perhaps you just didn't notice. Your motivation here is to get people to respond to the discussion you started, because the more people respond to your topic, the more you will earn, as far as I know. So don't get discouraged. I think that's actually great, because we post well thought out topics that we think would elicit discussion and not any lame topic. :)

I think we only credited after the discussions receives its first response, discussions with zero responses receives no points or earnings. also i read one member saying that points are corrected before the earnings credited daily.

I have also noticed the same thing happening.when we start new discussions the number of posts do not go up.I dont understand why that happens. But one thing starting ur owwn discussion is exciting when you get good responses to the discussions that you start. feel like switching off the Pc when noone responds to ur discussion.

It has always been that way. Your number does not change until you reply to a response on your discussions. Also, it is good to select a best response for each of your discussions.

I have noticed that, too. This only means that we have to post our responses as well, in addition to, the discussions we post. We just can't simply post our discussions one after another and, expect that our credit points will go up without giving responses to discussions which had been started by others from here in mylot. I believe that the admin is telling us that there is a need for us to return the communication drops we are getting from others by giving drops on them, too.

I am not sure what has happened to yours because my number increases accordingly. However, if I post at the blog section, my number will not increase there but once I am back to this friends section, the number is incremented accordingly.
