Global warming - can we do something to better the situation?

There is no denying that the effects of global warming is having a major impact on the nature. We are discussing the effects of global wamring more and more. I would like to get your suggestions on how can we do something which betters the situation to some extent. I think if we all take some small steps that will have a major impact for the good of our planet. Your suggestions please.

Switching off the Air Conditioners is definitely one of the solutions. Thanks for your suggestion. I would also add that we should try and minimize use of such gadgets like the refrigerators.

I believe the most important thing is not use air condition. But I think most people won't do it even though they both know the air condition will pollute surroundings. And we must retrench various energies like water, paper, electricity etc. I can't imagine what does the world would be in the future.
