I never stop for people in the street or mall trying to promote or sell something. I know I am not going to buy whatever it is that they are promoting, so I don't want to waste their time or mine. I am not a cruel person, I know these people are trying to make a living, so to benefit them, I keep walking. Why should they waste valuable time on someone who is not going to make them a profit? I sometimes even explain this to them if they are especially persistant.

I really depends on what they are selling. If it is something that is of use to me, I might stay and listen. Majority of the time I ignore them and walk away.

yep. that's what most of us do. atleast stay awhile if the product's interesting and not waste any time if we aren't into what they are selling... atleast, leave them with a smile.

If I am not in hurry then only I listen the request otherwise I ignore when I am busy. This is policy of the companies to market their product. Someone also gets job by doing this, so we should try to give few minutes if we have. Buying that thing is other matter.

I have faced this situation so much times. but I have some times say blindly no if I am in a hurry . But if I am relaxed and the product which they are promoting is a good one then I will be (would have also)given them a chance to sell it to me.But if it is a worth less thing then my answer will be "NO". They some time brings some cute items like some dool etc. that I have bought , like a pen that I have recently bought which have tourch on the cap..

I worked for a while in a shopping mall. And there are a tons of product demonstration. If I am interested with the product, I'll stop for a while and take time to listen a bit. And if it has a great purpose or multitask ability. I might consider to buy it. Especially if the price is appealing, not too expensive or cheap. I'll rather listen and take time for that in a mall than in the street. Because some items I really appealing along the streets. But you have to take in consideration, pickpockets or holdapers. Because you are exposing your money to their preying eyes. So if I don't have someone with me, I tend to ignore it. Have a nice day Easy!(^^,)

shopping mall - inside a shopping mall
yep. i have lots of experiences with this kind of situation. most of them are offering me credit cards. and since i am not interested in having one, i just smile and listen for awhile and say later that i am not very much interested. most of them, i encounter while inside shopping malls. there are those who sell house and lots, too. i sometimes listen if i have the time and get their contact numbers. just in case i might want to have one, atleast, i can contact them soon. but more or less, most of them are annoying and irritating especially when you are in a hurry.

True, I always see people promoting credit cards at the street or shopping centers. Will they ask for your numbers?? because most of the time it happened rather than you get their numbers.

Yeah as far as I can remember I did went through with that kind of experience. I turned down the offer politely. I was in a hurry then and so I told her that I can't attend to her though she's not yet finish talking. I think that was fair enough. I know they are annoying, but just imagine that's their bread and butter and after all they are making a descent living rather than the other way around.

it deppends from my mood I am. Usually i try avoid such proclaimers, especially in streets, but also in markets. I just say that haven't time, or that I have this product:) The same problem we have in my workplace. Every week, especially before holidyas, we get visits of different proclaimers - books, cometic, clothes,.... Even there is note on the door, that "publicists aren't desired" ...no matter for them....ohhh how they bother us. So as soon as somebody enter our office, we cut their talk and ask to leave. But sometimes, when we are ready for jokes, we start ask different questions about product, sometimes provocative:), and just get fun :) till they lose their patience and say "bye" at last:) Sure I understand, it's also job to proclaim something, but for it need must know time and place.

Well, if it is something that I need or something that intresests me, or something which could be useful to me then I would kindly wait, listen to the promoter and to the quality of his product or article. In case if it is good, worth buying then I have no problems purchasing it. Also I will check on its price and gurantee. But just in case if it is not up to the quality or standard of my requirement I would turn down the offer and continue my shopping, as usual.

I occasionally skip them by; there are so many of them, I can't honestly stop every time. But I did once, I was with my friend, and we were taken to a special room where we were asked to comment on a new brand of cherry juice. They asked how it tasted, and how much money would I pay for it if I saw it on the supermarket etc... We were even compensated for our efforts; both of us received a cup! I had used mine for many years, unfortunately it broke some years ago.

i dont like peaple promoting something to me any where. i always prefer to have something of my own. if i want to buy it i will make it sure that it is of good quality. first of all if this thing happens near my door i would probly listen to him once refuse him if i dont like it and if he still doesn't listen to me i will shut the do infront of his face. if someone promotes something to me near the street i will listen to him and then i will take it from him and when he will ask me money straight away i will say i thougth its free this way u fan tease them. i have tried this many times when we used to go to have fun all these guys would come and make me angry by doing this i have spoiled their day now no one even comes close to me as they know its of no use.

If they are going to give me something for free I will stop .. otherwise I just walk right by .. I don't carry money with me so can't give them any money for any reason .. if I haven't already bought it or desired it I don't need it .. and I can only stand still for a few minutes before the pain starts so even if I wanted to know more I couldn't stop anyway hehe !!

When people try to get me to buy something from them on the street or at a kiosk in the mall I usually try to dodge them. I try not to make eye contact and I never listen to them. I know it's rude, but if I want something I will go get it myself, I don't want people pushing it in my face.

I will 9 times out of 10 listen, however I am aware that if it sounds too good to be true, there is a good chance it is. On the streets more then any other place, because they run alot of scams, & sell fake product.

I really hate it when they stop you and try to sell you something, I do my best to avoid them or get rid of them politely as possible and walk away, even if what they are trying to sell is good, somehow and subconsciously I feel it's a scam with the way they are trained to talk and try to convene you. What's wrong in handing out a brochures and let come back to them if you are interested?
