What is the deal? Why do people have to have such a power trip just because they are someones boss? My boss is one of those kind of people who wants everyone to know that he knows more than anyone. Whenever he gets the chance to humiliate someone, put someone down, or just plain act like he is better than all, he takes it. He will call you stupid loudly enough for other people to hear if you have made a mistake. He is really getting on my nerves this week and it is only Tuesday. I have already been to human resources to complain and so have other people. It is just frustrating. I don't know how much I can take.

you poor thing - just remind yourself that je must be really insecure to behave in this way - he is not worth you getting so stressed and I am sure that everyone you work with will feel the same way about him! Some of what you say sounds like bullying and he should not be able to get away with this - also remember that most bullies will back down when stood up to! Wish you luck sweetie! x

Thanks sweetie. I have actually gotten to the point where I don't really take his crap. I have noticed most people around here don't. I just let him know that I know what I am doing, yes I did it and you will get it when I put it on your desk. That's my new attitude lately. lol.

Oh dear that sounds a nightmare. I've worked for people like that and I know that its not fun. I'm glad to hear you've tried to do something about it and I hope that your human resources are going to liste. Sometimes in my experience when someone first gets promoted it goes to their head a little, or they are that stressed they just take it out on others, but this is no excuse. Believe it or not having looked into it a little it seems a fairly common problem and people have dedicated websites to the subject. Try http://www.badbossology.com seems to be lots of advice and solutions depending on your type of boss. I hope that you sort this problem out soon, if not remember you could always start looking for another job, you never know it could lead to a job you enjoy more and get paid more for, now that can't be bad!!

Thanks for the website. Thank you very much for the uplifting comment. I have thought about looking for another job, maybe I will actually look instead of think about it.

My boss is awesome He is such a down to earth guy and is a good friend to all of us but lets us know when we do something wrong and we all respect him. He will do anything for us as long as we don't lie to him which I think is cool. If we need a day off and tell him the reason why and can't find anyone else to work if he has off he will work for you. We work in a restaurant/brew pub so he knows how to do every job

That's really cool. I used to have a boss I liked. This one just makes you not want to come to work.

I am sorry to hear that you are having a difficult time at work. I am now a stay at home mom, but before that, I worked as a retail store manager, when I was only 21. All of my employees always used to talk about how I was nice, sometimes even too nice. Before becoming a retail manager, I was an assistant manager with another company when I was about 18. The manager was just plain mean and awful, kind of like how your boss sounds. When I left that placed I vowed I would NEVER be like her if I ever got in her position.

Hey Dear, Welcome to the club :P all bosses are the same, no matter how friendly they try to be it's just their nature... Hope we become bosses some day hopefully we'll change that :D

Become your own boss. It is the best thing I ever did for myself. It becomes that much easier to achieve success when you are motivated to get out of a situation you hate. At this point you have done all you can do if you have gone to human resources. With power hungry types, it never works to try and take care of things yourself.

I really wish I could become my own boss. I have tried a few different things like Melaluca - definitely was not for me, and Marlo Quinn - you may have heard what happened with them, they just up and closed their doors without any explanation or even warning. Anyway, I am a single mom and don't really have the resources to start my own business.

That is very sad that a human takes the title of boss and makes people under him be miserable. I am very lucky because my boss is a very understanding boss. She has a open door policy and she really means it. She will talk with you as long as it takes to help you out. She has empathy for her workers and trys to do whatever she can to make things easier on them. I feel sorry for you and hope you can get something worked out so that your boss treats you and your coworkers better.

Just try to hold your self to gether. I know what you mean about bosses though. Before I started working in the cottage I am in now I was in a cottage where all of the employees called the boos CO for comanding officer. it also fit her real name Christy Ozentowski. LOL. My current boos is really nice and does everything he can to keep his employees happy so we stay longer.

bosses are boses. they are the boss. and we are just employeers. and we work for them. and they give us money, that is the realtionship between a boss and the employers. and how can we put ourselves on the line if we defend ourselves b y something that offends the boss. that would be too risky. and we have to accept and take it we actually and truly did something wrong. so and don't foregt to promise this would be never happening again. so let your boss calm dowm. and if possible. let him think whether he has done something a little bi t further. and most importantly. make yourself a big potato in your place . otherwise. hate ur job. kick your boss and quit....
