Afraid of Sharks or still Swimming in the OCEAN? That is the Question...

I went to the beach on March 1st 2007. I love the smell of the ocean air and the birds and sand and the coast guard flying overhead in huge choppers really make me feel at home here in NC, but I don't know if I want to go swimming anymore in this huge sea of ours. I've seen so many reports of shark attacks in the last few years, with the victom (whos usually less an arm )saying that they can't wait to get back to the ocean. I can't understand thid logic..wouldn't that discourage the person who is now limbless? I feel like i'm now in shark stew... does anyone else feel a little afraid this year?

I have a dream to swim in the ocean in a cage with a great white shark. I know it sounds mad but I'd love to see one of these magnificent animals

I think I would be ok in the cage. I think sharks are smarter than we credit them.

It's funny, I often wonder about areas where there are alligators and crocodiles and people still swim in those rivers and lakes. But, I wouldn't think twice of swimming in the ocean with sharks or even hiking in the hills with mountain lions even though I know people have gotten attacked. I feel accustomed to the threat. I take precautions.

I guess if i were in Fla. I wouldn't swim in any lakes where the gators live...I still may go in the ocean but maybe just so far...as for mountain lions. here on the east coast we have none, but we still have those black bears..:)
