How do you discipline your children?

I put them on time out for about 15-minutes,they are instructed to sit down away from the TV,Toys & any form of stimulation. They are told to think about what they did then come back to us & tell us why it was wrong. We do not believe in hitting our children, you can't simply tell a child it's wrong to hit people & then turn around & hit them.

It really does depend on how old she is. But really any child older than 4 should be able to listen to reason. Try to explain to her why she is being badly behaved and how it is making you feel and why you don't want her to do it. Then give her rewards for being well behaved and if she is bad take away something she likes, perhaps her mobile phone or TV if she is older or her favourite doll or toy if she is younger.

I discipline my 5 year old son by my star system. I have a chart with my rules on it. We go over our rules everyday. If he does not obey our rules he gets a strike. If he behaves well he gets a star. Each star is worth 5 cents he can earn up to 25 cents a day. If he gets a strike he loses 5 cents. By the end of the month he can earn $4.00 and sometimes we will give him a surprise. He can choose to save it or spend it. This teaches him the value of money and it teaches him that if he can't abide by the rules he will lose privilages.He gets very upset if he gets a strike so he tries really hard to get all stars. This works for him. My daughter is 19 mths old. We use a different approach for her. We will put her in timeout or just say no no. This works for her.

rod will be the last resort but after talking to her and she did not change spank her, but only spank them on their butt, its also in the Bible spare the rod or spoil a child ..you should talk to her like a mature person give , ask her why is she doing that , tell her the reason why she should stop it. just be open to her and im sure she will understand.

I would take away things she love to do. A spanking only last a minute but they hate to be bored.
