MyLots Revolving Cross....

Please don't send me into myLot hell but the new icon for religion is a revolving black cross (at least it is on my screen) and it is very distracting to me. Now I am a Christian and I am pretty religious but I find when I am trying to type a response I can see that icon going round and round and round and I can't concentrate. Am I the only one who finds it distracting?

I find it kind of distracting too.
However, there is a solution. You can pick any picture that has been uploaded to the "religion" category to be your icon for that category, so you could always pick your own. I picked mine after the cross started to annoy me, and I plan on changing it occasionally just so I don't get bored of it.

I have a couple objections to the revolving widget but the most important one is that I have residual brain dysfunction from being beaten - and some times flashy things can create a pseudo-seizure reaction - I get fixated on the dang thing and can't concentrate on anything else.
I now have a nice non-moving, non-flashy icon!

thanks for writing this discussion pal , I hope My lot can read it , It was driving me mad earlier today as it was right at the top of the interests , I am a religious person too,but it was driving me mad , I tried to highlight it and move it but it didn't wok . I noticed it had gone earlier so I hope it stays where it is lol xx

I do nothave that on my screen,but anything that moves on a screen is there to catch attention .I know I would find it very distracting and there would be times when I would have to stop MyLot as I would not be able to think straight.So,in a way,revolving anything may DECREASE the # of people on MyLot .I hope MyLot takes note.

I do not care for it personally. It reminds me of a little music box dancer, arms held out, pirouetting, constantly. I was not crazy about the previous one either, but at least it did sit still. Actually to me this is not black, per se, but perhaps is black marble. Still, do not like it. It will change eventually. It is just in a kind of distracting spot.

I didn't like it myself. I found it distracting, annoying and not nice to look at..lol I changed it to one I found in religion. I like it much better. Here is a link to the one I chose.

I hadn't actually noticed that until you brought it up, but having seen it, yes it is quite distracting. It almost makes me giddy to watch it. :-)

i think they amuse themselves at our expence i personaly am anti muslim but all that is on my religion opening page are muslim symbols at least you have a cross i also am a christian but see no christian symbols on my page!

I liked the old icon they had for religion better. I am like you and the revolving cross tends to distract me. I am a bit ADD and anything that catches my attention will make it hard to concentrate on what I am doing.

It is a bit distracting but I like it better than the previous bright rainbow colored icon. On mine it's mostly black but as it "flashes" I see blues, purples, and pinks. It just depends how closely you look.

I am not a Christian. However, I have mentioned a few times at myLot that I respect all religions. I have seen that cross you are talking about and I find it very distracting too. I hope myLot will remove that pic.

Looks like MyLot paid attention since the icon has changed,..and if you notice there symbolisms for all the religions involved.

I didn't even notice it at all. To be honest moving gif's don't really bother me too often unless it's something where there are huge changes and it distracts me. I'll have to look and see if it still is there.
So I guess my answer would be.... nope.. I don't find it distracting since I never even noticed it! LOL

never really thought about it. I guess it could be distrubing. It looks blue to me with lighting in it.
