carolee i really think differently than what other people were writting here. i think that you should not buy him any clothing. you have to see the whole picture here. he had alote of weight on his body for a long time. and now he is dealing with the losing weight issue and his new body image..and that is not so easy. i really think you should buy him somthing other then clothing that relate to the fact that you appreciate him to be a thin person..and you disagree with him being a full one. you should buy him a good interesting book or somthing like that. i do think that you should not buy anything that is directly about his body image. hope you understand what i meant:)

Wow I bet you are very excited to see him!! I hope he's doing okay since the surgery. I'm sure that was not an easy thing to go through. If I were you, for his birthday I would probably treat him to nice show. Where in NJ would you be going? If it's anywhere near Atlantic City, there are tons of great shows at the Casinos. Then I would probably give him one of those Visa gift cards. This way he can use the money any way he wants. He may want to use it on new clothing, or he may want to use it on something totally different. But it would be his choice. Most of all, enjoy your time together!

First i would like to say happy birthday to your son,and congrats. on his weightloss.If you know his taste in clothes get him some clothes or how about a gift card and that way he can buy them.Have a safe trip,i haven't been to Jersey in years.

I think I'd get him a gift certificate for a massage. Or perhaps full length mirror. If he is dealing with body image issues, those are ways for him to get in touch with the new self. Or maybe dance lessons! :-) It's time for him to kick up his heels!

I think a gift card would be ok or get him something that he really wanted and haven't thought about in along time (just a thought) tell you son happy 40th birthday and to take care of himself. Drive safely.

Probably some new clothing! Im sure all of his old stuff falls right off of him now. Im sure that just seeing his parents will be the best present from his point of view.

Refills for his organizer with notes on the days you wish him to know how much you love him. That would be my biggest guess. CNN is a great job and being able to socialize with some ball players would have to be a big deal. Good luck finding him a gift.

Just you showing up is the best! He's already got a new body, AND he works for the Yankees. That alone leaves me green with envy. I bet he is really excited to see you all as well. Have a great time!

Clothes of course, new ones are needed very badly. It is obvious that he will have a new wardrobe since he has lost so much weight. All those clothes he used to have are of no use now. Therefore, give him a set or two. I am sure that he will appreciate it.

membership to a gym so he can KEEP his new body. Healthy eating cook books, again, so he can keep his new body. Do things that will encourage him to eat right and exercise so he can STAY healthy.

Well, if money isn't an issue, I say go get him a gift card for his favorite clothing store if he has one. Tell him it's to start his new wardrobe collection off :o)

Thats a tough one. I have all I really need. I have people get me light bulbs for my grow room and gift cards to the Lowe's. But I think your son needs clothes. He has lost a lot of weight so he probably needs them the most. Have a safe trip and be careful.
