According to my point of view English should be kept on. So that poor people can stydy and understand it very well. It will be helful to them. I personally think we have to keep it on. It is well known that India is a land of diverse languages and dialects. Though Hindi has been given the status of the national language there are certain parts of the country, particularly Bengal and South India where Hindi has yet to win a place in the hearts of the people. The new national language cannot be forced down the throat of those people. Equally impracticable would it be to push forward any of the regional languages to take the place of English. Thus continuing with English becomes inevitable. Our ambassadors will have to know English and the language of the country in which they happen to have their assignments. Nobody will deny the indispensability of English in the sphere of international relations.
