Did anyone hear what Sanjaya said last night?

I completely and totally agree with you 100%, as an AVID fan of this show I am sorely disappointed with this years selections(contestants) and what happened to the show thereafter. Obviously its a weekly "Universe of Sanjaya" created ny noneother than the ones out there who VOTE for him as a joke or some impaired notion that he has some talent that bypasses anyone else on that show which is really not saying much this year. However, there are some glimmers of hope in Blake, Chris Sligh(who was kicked off last week)Melinda Doolittle and Jordan Sparks. Otherwise., it's more of seen this and its been done by the remaining. American Idol was, is and will always be a Popularity contest after all we are all swayed every week by the judges, audience, contestants and America to vote for whoever they think is "Popular" good, bad or (in Sanjaya's case) really BAD!!! I loved it the last 2 years, there was some real awesome talent in Chris Daughtry, Elliott Yamin, Taylor Hicks, Bo Bice, Constantine, Carrie Underwood, and the list goes on.

Sanjaya is just trying to capitalize on the phenomenon that has been the voting for him. He knows he only has so much time left in the spotlight therefore he needs to say whatever and do whatever he can to draw more and more attention and publicity so he will have something profitable to look forward to after the show is over.

Well, personally I too found that a bit odd. You know these contestants get paid for being on there, and such so maybe the Judges are paid accordingly as well? Who knows but this yr. does tend to be loosing it's flavor some compared to yrs. past. But you never know. Only time will continue to tell I guess. As for Sanjaya, I never really noticed what he said, but overall, I think unless you count his look with the Hawk, I have not really seen too much out of the ordinary compared to any of the others.

I think Sanjaya's getting a little to big for his britches !!! It's not his fault that many drones vote for him and keep him there, but to be so cocky is irritating. As far as commenting only on clothes, etc. I know Simon for one is fed up and feels it does not matter what they say anyway. He even mentioned once to Sanjaya that it didn't matter what he said. I think American Idol's days are numbered. people are tiring of it and with Howard Stern and others trying to take it down (and it's working) it may just be time for the producers to cut their losses and get out.

If anything, Sanjaya is just cashing in on his negative-centered popularity.
