my daughter doens't like most breakfast food, just toast. i'm looking for some great ideas for something different but healthy. we are usually up and out the door with in an hour after we get up but my daughter won't eat first thing in the morning so it has to be something quick to eat so she has time for it. she's not a morning person and it takes her a while to get started.

Try to see if she'll go for a glass of OJ right when she gets up...it's loaded with natural sugar and should get her motor running. I've threatened to do this to my hubby since it takes him FOREVER to get out of bed. Now, as to what she'll eat. Since all she wants is toast, make sure it's whole wheat. If you can get away with this, try spreading some jam onto it...perhaps it's the sweetness she'll like...wait...if she's going the OJ route, best try some PB instead. OR...you can make up a batch of wholesome waffles on the weekend made with all sorts of good, healthy and nutrious ingreedents and freeze them for the week. Then that way, just pop the waffle into the toaster, slap on some butter and out you go! Hope this works!

thanks for the ideas. she won't eat anything on her toast but butter. it's so funny, i'll put jam and she tries to scape it all off. i'll try the oj and the waffles are a great idea to make and freeze.

Hmmmm she sounds really picky! maybe you could try hard boil egg (i will cook them the night before and leave them in the fridge over night peel and eat, pop tarts, fruit cut apples, yogurt, grapes, I am not sure but those drinks like boost i am not sure if they have any for kids but wouldn't hurt to try, I know it may be hard and sad to see but don't worry, she will come around, just keep encouraging it she wont let herself strive maybe talk with your Doctor to about vitamins for she would be the type to more than likely need them, Good Luck and remember she will come around on her time =) I so wish you and your daughter the best! You could try to pop her in a couple of pop tarts if she likes them. You can also get some breakfast bars. They are nutritious. does she like sausage and biscuits? You can try to buy some of those already made up and all you have to do is heat them. Does she like granola bars? If so, those are nutritious too and she can eat them also on the go. I know it is hard to find food that the little ones will eat, but those are just some I could think of right now. You can also try so9me hot pockets. They have all kinds since she don't really like breakfast food.

We used to do cereal bars. They make them in great flavors to match any boxed cereal. Most are pretty healthy or have added stuff like yogurt. Can you get raisin bread there? Anything she eats in the mornings will be a help to her day.
