It is said that girls are more talktive than the boys. How many would agree on this. Please share your views and experiences on this issue with me. Thanks in advance.

i agree, partly though. things were like this some years back but as of now i think its, if not the other way round, but definitely both are at the same platform. with more and more advances in marketing management and client oriented job profile, and BPOs, i guess, men have to do the talking bit aswell. more so when the cliched job profiles exclusively meant for girls have been changing. almost all jobs are unisexual in orientation. this talkative spree gives men an edge over women even when at home with family. as for me, most women in my family talk a lot and let me tell you, some are garrulous and that irritates me immensely. i am a soft talker and there have been times when i hardly talk atall. i guess, i do the balancing act in my family. smiles and hugs.....

Thanks for your detailed and elaborative comments. Regrets could not see you reply earlier and post my comments. I still feel girls can talk in an impressive manner. If you limit my point of view to BPO industry... you will find that they can talk very fluently and in a very impressive manner, instead of boys. Based on my experience I have found..

I think girls talk a LOT more than guys. Well its true about 99 percent of the time. I think guys talk a lot too but they just do it differently. I mean they won't spend 3 hours talking about their relationship but they'll talk about random stuff for a long time without realizing it. I was watching this show where they surveyed people on the street asking them which gender talks more and almost everyone said women talked more. When they asked them how many hours on average they talked a month, women talked only a few more hours on the phone a month than guys! Well there goes the old steriotype.

I guess I would tend to agree that women are more talkative than men. Example...my husband and me. I think everything should be talked out so it's resolved and doesn't turn into a bigger problem. My husband likes to completely turn into a workaholic and ignore the problem. Like if he doesn't give it any attention it just isn't there. On some days when he's home at night if I am involved in something and not alking a million miles an hour he actually asks me if something's wrong. He says it's weird to have me quiet.

Hmmm... My son must be the odd one out. I'm telling you this boy never shuts up! He talks even when no one is in the room! My poor girls never get to say anything--except "Mom...It's MY turn!!" LOL!!!

I have not conducted any survey on this but generally, it has been reported that girls speak more words than guys. In my opinion, this does not mean that girls are more talkative. In my office, it is the guys who talk more than girls.

It seems that girls talk A LOT when we first get to know each other... once we know each other it takes less words to carry on the conversation. My best friend and I get almost bored in an hour because we can cover more topics in less time. My HUSBAND on the other hand, just finished a nine month stint as a 'stay at home dad' and it seems everytime i turned around he was on the phone with his buddy chatting about nothing! Two of the biggest talkers in our town are men... if my hubby says he ran into "J" at the store I totally understand why it took two hours to get a loaf of bread!

This is quite hyothetical, there are equal chances of girls and boys being more talkative. I have known very many girls who are shy and just to themselves-they rarely talk-this situation aplies to boys too. So you cannot clearly see the dividing line!

Girls are more talkative as scientifically for females in generally both the sides of the brain are used for language for men it is usually only one side so the anatomy of the brain also supports the fact that girls are more talkative than boys.

First of all thanks for your response. You appear to me a daring and bold person......I am surprised that you used the word 'brother' for me. (I have not seen anyone here using this word!). Yes, I entirely agree with you silence is more killing than talking....and the person who remain in silent can be more killing. (+) rated.

I think boys can be just as talkative. My 9 year old son Jarod is a talker. This is the first year that his teacher didn't complain about his 'talking'. I have heard that can be 100 kids in a room and we can year Jarod chatting on the other side of the room. LOL He is loud and very chatty. He is very much my son. ;)

hehehe... I just remembered a joke on that. A husband comes home and says to his wife.... "You know what.... A man speaks 15000 words per day whereas a woman speaks about 30000. Isn't that ridiculous just chatting away about two times a normal man does?" The wife says... "Let me explain.. We have to talk more because men are so dumb they can't understand what we say and we have to repeat ourselves twice atleast". The husband says "what?"

ya i am agree that girls are more talkative than boys. specially the kids because with the growth girls may improve upon this habit. even if kids talk a lot we can't stop them even if we are feeling uncomfortable. i think being a takative is not a bad habit untill and unless the conversation is meaningful.

Its partially correct. Not all the girls are like that.It depends on the inividual attitue and inclination from childhood. If girl see her mom talkative and surrounding girls are also too..than this must give a bad affect in her character too. But in general girls talk much than boys .

I think it depends on the upbringing, heredity and environment. Both sexes could be talkatives alike.

Sometimes girls are very talktive, but I really met not a few boys more active and talktive.I think the differences of charaters or environment made those girls be more talktive. And I think girls more talktive are lively,I like those girl lively.

I can't explain it because girls are just talkative by nature and boys aren't just like girls. I think it's because when they speak, they tell it straight to the point.

I'm pretty anti-social for a girl, I guess but when I have friends to talk to, it's pretty much non-stop until I run out of things to say.
