It is not easy to regain the trust of people if you make a mistake. Tell me different ways to do it. Also tell me your experience. How you handle it. Have you make a mistake and handle a situation.

I think at first you must apologize to him and if you can please do something to retrieval the mistake. Then you must to the best of your abilities don't make mistakes again. All of this, I think you will regain his trust again.
