when you shop for clothes, would you rather spend your money on 2 items of signature clothing or more than 5 items but are not branded? share and be heard!

Seeing as I don't work anymore, I choose my clothes wisely. I don't recognize the brands over here so that doesn't matter. I would rather have 5 items as opposed to only 2. I tend to shop at Tesco and they have very reasonable clothes.

I have bought a lot of my children's clothes from Tesco and they are just as good quality as anywhere else. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't be.

Personally I look at the quality of the clothing. Some of your name brands are made cheaply with a big price tag on them. Some of the cheaply priced clothing is made well but given a fair price. Just because something has a high price tag on it doesn't mean that the brand that made it did a good job.

I can't see the point in wasting money on *designer* or branded clothes myself. I can't afford to spend money on clothes with a label or name, after all they are just clothes to be worn, so I prefer to get value for my money.

When it comes to clothes (and makeup) I don't care for name brands in the slightest. I don't get (and definetly don't have the money, doubt I would even if I had the money though) why I'd spend a couple of 100 dollars on a top when I can get another similar top (or whatever) for a quarter of that price. I've been pretty generic my entire life and I've found little problem with it. You can easily look at half the stuff and tell if it has been made well or not. My favourite pair of Jeans (regularly worn) are 7+ years old and cost $AUD20, not a thing wrong with them yet.

I would prefer 5 items non-branded items. I am not a big fans of branded items and most of the time for their designs and materials used, I think they're over-priced. I love mix & match myself and it's always better for me to have more cool items. Besides, girl's fashion is in one season and then out in the next, I don't see spending so much on just one piece of clothes.

I agree I don't normaly wear anything branded unless I can look at it and see why the cost is what it is otherwise it is pretty hard to get me to spend more than $20 on most clothes $40 on jeans maybe $30 on shoes but only if they are really cute

I couldn't afford designer clothes even if I wanted to but I probably would still never buy brands in most cases. There are some brands which I don't mind paying a little extra for because I know they are good quality but there are usually cheaper alternatives which are just as good quality. I've known people pay really high prices for things which have fallen apart after 5 minutes and my 7 year old has a pair of trousers bought for £3 for my nephew 7 years ago which don't even have the slightest hole or mark on them.

I'd rather byt 5 things without a brand. But only if we talk about clothes. If we talk about other things I really think you get what you pay for.

It depends on what types of clothes these are. For classic pieces that can take a person anywhere and everywhere, I would think it's ok to go with the branded items. These would include jeans or a good jacket. So I would be ok with buying a famous jeans brand with a good cutting that would suit almost any top. Examples would be G Star and 7 for all Mankind. But if I was just getting some common basic pieces such as a shirt or a t shirt, I'd just go for the budget versions. These can't be worn day in and day out without people saying that one is running out of clothes!

Two signature items for me. Unless I was really strapped for cash or something then obviously I would have to settle for the 5 items that are not branded. But if I had my pick it would definatly be for 2 name brand items. I feel like a brat saying that but honestly I have found that spending a little more for brand name items, they have lasted better in the wash and wear than the cheaper stuff has.

when i shop for clothes i prefer to buy fewer items of clothing that are higher quality. i like high quality clothing because they look better and feel better. i would feel like i am wasting my money by buying many items of clothing that i wont like. when i was younger, i didnt get to choose my own clothes so i usually wore low quality clothes. now i have changed and will only wear clothes if they are nice.
