I recently started going to this doctor. I'm a 27 year old mother of a 4 year old epileptic child,I have had depression since I was 16 but since I met my husband my symptoms have subsided. I started going to the doctor's because I have started having dizzy spells where it feels like I'm going to pass out but I never do,it's like a cloud in my head. Also i have been having really bad pains in my muscles I can barely do chores or help care for my child without breaking down in tears by the end of the day. Which has cause my depression to resurface. When I spoke with my doctor, he wrote me a scipt for FOLIC ACID, and told me to grow up and stop whinning aboout life and the pain.He said I should learn to deal with the pain,if I take this pill it will help solve all my problems, when I asked if it would help with my anxiety and depression he said I need to change my life! Has anyone ever had a similar experience with a doctor or hospital? Should I get a second opinion, or just give up on finding out what's wrong? I never go to the doctor's unless I'm injured or sick.I just feel something is wrong with my body and I want to know how to fix things so I can help my husband and daughter when they need me.

My husband and I've been in this situation before and it was kinda frustrating and scary at the same time. For myself, it took me more than 4 times until the doctor start believing to what I've said and take the proper test. And my husband decided to change his doctor to a better one after proved that his actual doctor been couple of times made mistake of his health. Doctor is just a human like us, so... No, don't give up !!!! If you feel something wrong with your body just keep trying until you find the closest answer. Go get second opinion or even browse on the internet for similar symptoms and about the FOLIC ACID itself and keep checking your health to the doctor until the doctor willing to do a proper health test and listen to your saying. Just don't give up !!! Good luck and I hope you'll get better soon and that you'll get the health treatment that you need !!!!

Thank you so much I will continue to try to find out what is wrong. I just can't understand how anyone could go see this doctor and feel ok with how they are treated. I'm glad to hear you and your husband keep at it until you got the results you needed. It's good to hear that I'm not alone.

First, I agree with the person that stated that you need to report the doctor for being abusive! No one should receive that kind of treatment from a person who has taken an oath to help. Next, ask your friends, family and other people that you trust about the doctor they go to. Listen closely and choose one that sounds like he or she is sympathetic and understanding. I have to change doctors for the same reason that you have listed. The one that I have been going to simply tunes you out and then tells you to do something odd- she uses the assembly line method of medicine. I have heard alot of other people say the same thing, that they are changing doctors because of her attitude towards her patients. Find another doctor!!! There is something wrong and you need help in finding out what it is!! My prayers are with you!

I would most definitely find yourself another doctor. You should not have to put up with that kind of behavior from someone we should trust to help make us better. Get a second opinion and report that first doctor to the medical board for being abusive. I've had an experience like this before. I was sterilized in 2001 after having my youngest son. I felt that my family was complete and sterilization seemed to be the best way to go. However, I started suffering from all sorts of painful cramps, mood swings, and god only knows what else around the time of my monthly cycle. After some intense research, I discovered that I was suffering from a common but little heard of condition known as PTLS or Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome. The cure is to have your sterilization reversed. I went to my doctor to ask about this - only to have him laugh in my face and tell me that this syndrome doesn't exist. He made me feel terrible and told me that I'm not qualified to know about such things. I said no, but I'm qualified to know when something is wrong with me, which is more than you are, and walked out. I have since found a private clinic that specializes in research into PTLS and they perform reversals every day. The only problem with that is that I have to save up to have the procedure performed AND for flights down there and back. When all is said and done, I'm looking at a $10,000 bill.

I hope that everything works out for you. It is sad that some doctor's aren't willing to really listen to their patients. i will keep tring to find out what is wrong until I find out the truth. Thank you.

Doctors don't know everything. We expect them to automatically know what's wrong with us, but its like science. We don't know what the UFOs are or how big space is. Medical science is the same. We're still discovering new diseases and cures for older ones. I recommend going to a healthfood store and telling them about your ailments. Healthfood items are more expensive than over-the-counter pills but are more likely to solve your problems without side effects.

I didn't expect him to know everything however I did expect to be treated with kindness in my time of need. I can't afford to go to a healthfood store, but if I get the chance I will check it out. Thanks.
