Oh no, Big Brother is now in it's 7th year in Australia. I am so NOT looking forward to it, it just seems to take over the whole TV. It's getting worse and worse every year. It's pathetic, the people that go in there are getting worse, putting on acts and carrying on trying to be better than the last years people. Yes, I must admit I watched the first series in 2000 and it was ok, but I tried to watch some episodes in following years and it just made me switch it straight off. The people in there are just so fake. Sorry, I'm just having a spit. Its not on here yet but the advertising is going through the roof and its driving me insane. It's not like people have enough problems in their own lives , that they have to sit down and watch other people carry on.

I like Big Brother. It is one of those shows you can sit down and watch and not really have to think. The people that are on the show are very unique. I think that watching them act like fools on television lets us forget about the problems we have in our own lives. I do think that it is on way too many nights in a week. I usually try to catch one show and then the voting out show. It is easy to catch up on what happened when you dont' watch the whole thing. You know....if they chose regular run of the mill people for that show, I bet I could win:)

LOL....Yeah I suppose you can forget your own life for a while. But its true the amount of air time it has is just over the top. They dont cater for the people that dont want to watch it, they just presume everyone does.

Calais I quite like big brother here in the uk - but I know exactly what you mean by the fakes - I couldn't watch too much of it! I love trying to figure out who's manipulating who etc, the psychology part is what interests me! The hype you talk about is infuriating , I understand exactly what you mean by that! Here in the uk we have a celebrity version of BB and this year we watched in disbelief as several people pressed the self-destruct button, showing the nasty side of their characters with bullying and racism - at least we know the majority of the British public were outraged by their behaviour! xxx

Big Brother keeps a hold of so many people because it is a bit more genuine than the average show. You have people trying to reach a goal and showing who they are while doing it. Until someone comes out with a more character-revealing show, Big Brother will stay around. I'll give it 4 more years before they quit with it.
