Best way to get stronger/buffer?

I want to be stronger and look stronger. I've gotten a membership to YMCA and went about 2-3 times a week for about 3 months before baseball season. My baseball season is ending in about a month, so I want to start back up again (and this time I will continue all the way through the season as well). So my question is this, what is the best way to gain muscle and look stronger? Any specific workout plans, regimens, protein ideas, would be helpful. I want to gain muscle and look more muscular naturally. Thanks in advance.
