I love cabbage raw or cooked. I have made it so many ways, and still want more recipes. I already have it stuffed with meat, baked in butter or in salads. I want something new? Please, sugest or offer a nice recipe. Thanks my friends.

This sounds wonderful. But, I don't know what dania or jeera is. CanI do it without that? Thanks so much for the recipe.

http://www.basic-recipes.com/veget/cbbg/ Try this link and I think you will have a great beginning. I hope it does since cabbage is sooo good for us. I grow it easily and think it is sadly underused. Hubby especially likes cabbage and I like the purple cabbage in a salad. Good luck!

Last night I cooked a stir fry cabbage with egg in soy sauce. I make it like this; 1 small cabbage shredded 1 shallot minced 1 garlic minced 1 table spoon soy sauce 3 table spoon cooking oil 1 teaspoon black pepper powder 1 egg some water salt preparation; heat the cooking oil and add the minced shallot and garlic. when the shallot and garlic become a bit brown add the cabbage and stir for a while. add some water and bring it to boil. add the egg and stir again, add the black pepper powder and let it cook for about 5 minutes more. Remove the cabbage from the heat and serve with hot plain rice.

I have away to cook cabbage but you need to obtain a special type of salt meat or riblets to cook it which come from Newfoundland. We are having it with our Easter Dinner. You soak the salt meat overnight. Drain it the next day and fill with water again. bring to a boil and simmer for two hours. Add turnip and carrots. Bring to a boil. Simmer for 15 minutes. Add cabbage and potatoes. Bring to a boil and simmer until veggies are cooked. It tastes wonderful. It is called jigs dinner in Newfoundland. I can't wait for Sunday. I think you would like it if you could taste it.

I was never one for eating cabbage when I was a child .. but that was probably because my mum cooked it for sooooo long it was lifeless and stinky .. Nowadays I just steam it for a few minutes and it's lovely and green, doesn't smell and tastes divine .. I'm no good trying to write out recipes .. and UK and USA measuring weights are all different .. But try these web sites .. dedicated to the humble cabbage .. loads of interesting recipes .. http://discworld.imaginary.com/external/cabbage/recipies/index.html http://www.ablecole.co.uk/Content/Recipes/Cabbage.htm
