Do you feel sleepy when you're full?

I have to ask this question for we just had lunch at crazy buffet 2 hours ago. And I am stuffed of course. And so, now I am sitting here in the office and I am feeling so sleepy. Why is that so? That we feel sleepy and lazy when we're full, and active and alive when hungry? Do you feel the same way that I do?

You are not alone. I always feel sleepy when I eat. that is why a lot of times i skip lunch or have a small lunch (like soup) because otherwise it always seems impossible for me to finish out the day. I think that when you eat you use up energy and when you get full you don't feel like moving at all.

I've heard that when you eat too many complex carbohydrates like potatoes, pasta, bread, etc. you get sluggish or sleepy. Of course, if you eat a lot that makes you sleepy too.

That happens to most of us. A mid-afternoon slump is normal, but add to that a large meal with sugar and carbs, and it's naptime!

When i go home for my lunch break, I have rice and curry which fills me up big time. When i return to work i feel soo tired, i just don't wanna work. Yeah i guess when u have a heavy meal, your own body can't handle the weight. so in the end, you just have to drop out. lol

Yes, I know what you mean. When I eat more than I should especially sugar it makes me feel so tired. When I am on a healthy food plan I do feel more energetic. It really does depend on what we eat that determines how we feel.
