Is your house clean and orderly or a total mess?

Ahhh, the joy of a clean house! - I always like my house to be clean and orderly. I loathe seeing any mess scattering around. No matter how weary I am, I will still tidy up my house.

I am a bunny who has an obsession for clean and orderly house. I can't stand seeing my house that looks like its been hit by a hurricane. Not even a single piece of paper should be visible on my sight. No matter how weary I am, I will still tidy up my place. I guess it was in my nature to be this compulsively clean. Everytime I visited one of my cousin's house, I can't help but be irritated with all the mess in her house. There will be a towel hanging on a chair, her laundry basket is overflowing with dirty clothes, her dining table is full of used plates and utensils. I will start putting her house in order but it will be a total wreck again in just a day or two. I know that some of you are too busy with your work and have limited time to clean your house. But have you at least tried to put your house in good shape or do you just left all the mess scattering around because you're tired already? Do share your thoughts.

My house these days tends to be messy - it bugs me but for some reason there just always seems to be something else for me to do. Sad thing is I used to be a "clean freak" and couldn't stand anything being out of place - I followed people around picking up after them.

I too used to be a clean freak. My mom used to call me 'grandma' as I would pick up even a tiny piece of lint if I saw it on the floor, just like her mom. LOL That was before I had three kids... my two boys AND husband! LOL No matter how hard I've tried to clean house now, it gets messy about 20 minutes later. So I have given up on being a neat freak and do what I can when I can when it comes to housework.

I am right there with you Charms my mother grew us up that everything has a place and when your done with it thats where it goes,so thats how I run my house also. I cant stand clutter of any kind. Being disabled I spend a lot of time on the computer so when I get up to get a coffe or such as I pass thru the house I stop and tidy up .The dishes must be done before I go to bed I dont want to wake up to a sink full of dishes,I used to run around after my company cleaning up but found I wasnt enjoying my time with them so now we wait till they leave than do the tidy up game.

i surely am a busy mom that most of the time, i do not have the luxury of time to tidy up the mess around the house. who wouldn't want a clean and orderly dwelling place? sometimes it affects my mood when i come home to a messy house. but with so much limited time to do everything at once, the 3 hr free time i have i would rather spend sleeping to get me going through the rest of the day. i work at night, that's from 7pm-4am, i come home at 4am and prepare my kid and my nephew for school which starts 8am, then fetch them around 11am. in between i do some chores when i am not so tired already, but most times i just sleep during that period, coz once the kids are home by 12nn, i wont have time to sleep anymore and would have to prepare for work by 4pm so i can make it to the office by 7pm. and it goes like that everyday. only during my rest days do i get to really take a hands on with the chores, which includes cleaning up the whole house.

I think I am just about average. I do like having a clean and orderly house so I usually clean it and put it in order. However there are times when I am too tired for it (it never gets to look like a hurricane hit it but it has its moments when it isn't overly ordered either). Oh well. I'm still working on it :P

LOL, try to clean your house when you're not tired. Forget about those hurricanes eh. But I tell you, I can't live for more than a day when I see my house in a bad state. :)

my house is usually somewhere in between spotless and hurricane..i like to call it the lived in look...my dishes are always done and so is the laundry but there are newspapers on the stand and mail on the table...oh and a recipe i'm making later on the counter....i'd not worry about your cousins house and just live and let live and not stress out over something you cant change

Im always picking up after my husband because his mother never taught him to pick up after himself. And she had a habit of just leaving things around too. Now my mother had to have everthing clean and I guess I take after her. I dont think it comes down to having the time it has to do with being lazy. When I was working my house was always clean too. People just use that as an excuse not to clean.

I also know of someone who is also lazy to clean her house. She kept saying she was tired. Hmmm, I still like everyone to maintain a clean house.

I would be a little in the middle . I get very irritated when my house is a mess but it is not always nice and as tidy as I would like it to be . It doesn't bother me when I go to someone else's house as I understand that other's have their own way of doing things and it is not my house and I don't have to live there . I go through spells that I have to have everything perfect in the house and prefer when I am in this mode as I find it easier to keep everything the way I want it then to have to try and keep up with all that is going on in the run of a day lol .

I can't stand my house to be untidy, it would get on my nerves. I like everything in it's place so I know where to go when I need it again. My dishes area always done, and my laundry is up to date. I like order. I cannot work at my desk unless it's tidy and organised! We have no children at home anymore to make it untidy, but we have two dogs and sometimes their toys are lying around on the floor, that is the worst it gets for me!

yes,i have to admit that i was a lazy man when i stayed with my parents, you know, everything was ready, like a king who needn't to worry about the chore such as the mess in the room, and it seemed that i was accustomed to the condition of living.the situation was completely changed until i had to leave them to the socity,as i was graduated from the college, facing the press of living a hard life on your own,you will have to quit some habits such as the messy room, which represent the style of behave.in that day,i engaged on doing the housework.work make you assume the responsbility yourself.

My home is always somewhat messy. Someone will leave clothing or papers around, and no one will pick them up until the day we have to clean because of company coming over. It was such a pain cleaning yesterday, since there were clothes everywhere. Another problem we have is that none of us like to wash dishes. They will pile up until someone gets mad about it and washes them, or until we have to serve everyone a meal at once. The worst part is having to clean the dishes at night! Its so tiring to do so. Another problem we have with cleaning is that there are books everywhere. I buy too many at thrift stores at a dime each, and they pile up in different areas of the house! So yes, my house is a bit messy.

Our house is so clean... Mom is OC about cleaning the house... even the dishes must be manually washed, every piece must smell good and should produce a squicky sound when rubbed by a finger... no dirts allowed... or else mom would nag me...

Hubby is my organizer. He will pick up little things that I can't see. I have always believed that a house should be clean enough to live in and dirty enough to be happy.

My Mother at 18 - This is my mother when she was 18 years old.
Well my house is a mess. We live in a small trailer and there is barely room for my things and my daughter's.My son just moved back home and with all his stuff and ours to it is just awful. He has no choice but to take over the living room and put his stuff there. Thank goodness he does not have a lot of things or we would be in a pickle!

My whole house is clean because my roommate is obsessive compulsive, but my room is nasty, I mean NASTY. I have a pet rabbit in there and she chews up everything so there's trash everywhere and bunny food and clothes. It's really gross.

My house is clean and tidy but I am not a compulsive cleaner. It tends to get a little cluttered during the week but I usually clean it on the weekends. My sisters house is a mess too. I just want to clean, clean for her too but know won't help. My hubby helps out alot so that helps too. He likes a clean house too.

I am not sure if I should invite you to my house. My mum will love to have you around. She has the same habit of yours. Whenever she goes to my sis house, she also cannot stand the "mess" in her house and will help her put it in order. Maybe you should also hop to my house and my mum can take a break :P With such a great mum around, definitely my house is clean, tidy and orderly. It is only me who mess it up. I am not particularly concerned if that towel on the chair is an eyesore as long as it comes in handy and useful when I need it. My table is a complete mess, and yet, I am able to find my stuffs. Once it is arranged, my stuffs goes missing. I concluded I strive in a messy environment. LOL.

The only thing that needs real attention in my house is the laundry. The rest of it looks really good from daily maintaining, the kids cleaning up after themselves (yay! joy!) and things like that. I can't stand walking into someone's home to find a mess, a stink or other things that really should be attended to regularly.
