Can you give me examples of discrepencies in the Bible

I was raised a Christian and have always thought in the "christian" way. However, lately I am starting to rethink some things. I have found certain things in the Bible that I question suck as Adam and Eve had Cain and Abel...where did their wives come from? If Adam and Eve were the first and only humans on Earth, then where did the wives come from for their sons? Where is any mention of dinosaurs in the Bible? We KNOW they were here...why aren't they mentioned? Also, Christians don't believe in reincarnation...why not? Wasn't it God who said Elijah came before as John the Baptist? I am trying to study these discrepencies and would like to add to my little list. Any other questions would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to find some answers. I do want to say that I do believe in a higher power and I am not saying I don't have any sort of faith, but there are so many unanswered questions about this religion and the Bible...it concerns me.

I think you need to re read some of that stuff. First cain and able, its states them specifically but it also says adam and eve had many children. ALthough it was at that time inbreading, the gentic codes were not as screwed as they are today. Elijah came loooong befor ejohn the baptist. It says he came before with the message, it doesnt say he came again as john. The word "dinosaur" wasnt a word untill the mid 1800's All throughout time before this they were called dragons. Puts a new twist on so called mideval folk lore. Any giant lizard or reptile was called a dragon. If none have ever seen them why does babylon have very clear pictures of some, liek the brontosaurus? The livaithon ring a bell? Thats one very specific "dragon" listed in the bible. If you read and study you will see there is no discrepencese, only one person or another incapability to read and understand. Logic and attention to detial help as well. Worry not and have faith, its all there. If you want a good link of free videos to help you i suggest this. http://www.drdino.com/downloads.php They are free windows media seminars that cove ra vast majority of the issues you are uncertain of. I hope they can help you.

With Cain and Abel after Cain killed Abel it stated he went off to live with the others. My thought has always been where did these others come from? With the part about John The Babist I believe she is referring to the comments made by the priests to John where they asked if he was Elijah come again. They asked him if he was Elijah reborn.

to find the answers that you seek, you must first get on your knees an pray, humble yourself as a little child before the lord, ask that he give you understanding of his holy word before you ever open the Bible. you must ask and seek truth.

As far as I know the true translation of Genesis read The earth became desolate Instead of the earth was desolate. This indicates life on earth was already there before the garden of Eden. So there were also people before eden but not named in the OT. And think about it when Adam and Eve were driven out of paradise the animals were not so outside the garden there was already animal life otherwise they would not have survived.

About the dinosaurs... in the Creation, "then HE Created animal who walk on land, swim, and fly in the sky..". as a general term used... no specific names had been listed for it will only add more pages... There is really a misinterpretation if you combine religion and science.

Indeed, Elijah came before John the Baptist.. For John the Baptist is the Reincarnation of Elijah, who is said to prepare the people for the coming of the Messiah...

yes, then how come Christians as a rule do not believe in reincarnation? it is right there in the Bible. And, by the way, thanks for all your insights. They are very helpful in my research.

wow...you are full of great information. Thank you so much for the insight. I really am trying to just understand more. I have always just been taught this stuff and took it at face value, but now that I am an adult and older and reading thru the Bible, I see things that I question and you are providing wonderful help to me.

all i can say is that its a man who wrote the bible..and man is not God and perfect we are prone to mistakes and lapses..but as i have read the genesis its been there all along the wife of abel and so on and so forth although cain have just mentioned briefly saying that hes been a wonderer since or throught his life since he was vanished or exiled by God due to what he had done..pertaining to dinosaurs i think it was mentioned ..just read pages by pages from the very beginning and you will find out ..cant give you the verses but you have to do it and discover so that you may able to understand..

I can understand your doubts but the bible is a book to be deciphered in the spirit of God, the bible tells you that the world is made over and over again. None the less this I have seen with my own eyes but the real answer is in James 1:5 where the right answer is his answer. Remember Adam and Eve lived in Paradise as spiritual beings and became mortal after receiving the knowledge of good and evil and thereby being cast out into a world that was already made by God. The bible never said he did not create any others it just said they were of the first family. The things with Cain and Abel happened over a period of time. We as individuals are not shown to return to this earth in the same time period but those who are caught up with him and are deemed righteous upon judgement will live in paradise a new paradise and start all over after a period of time. His children have the benefit of everlasting life. We will not be going to heaven. Only Angels go to heaven along with the chosen 144,000 which is the 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes of Israel the rest of us will be in Paradise. I hope we don't get kicked out again. What ever you do don't eat the fruit hahahaha just a little joke but that's the way I understand it but ask him for yourself. You say you were raised a Christian so I trust you know how to talk to him. God Bless you. Remember there are always questions that can only be answered by a higher calling in what you profess.

Don't be so judgmental on what are written on the bible.. If Adam and Eve were the first couple. After they broke the rule God told them (not to eat the fruit of a tree in the center of the garden), they were told to leave the garden. And also the were told "Go Forth and multiply.." then came Cain, then Abel. because of jealousy, Cain killed Abel. After killing his brother, Cain wander the world. Then came Seth, the third son of Adam and Eve. If you were to ask where did the wife of Seth came from? The Answer is his sister for in the old testament, it is said that a person must marry from their nearest relatives... From this point of view, Adam and Eve not only have to children but several more... And those children married their brother or sisters.
