How come there are some people who have 1000 or 2000 next to their names?

Did they answered 1000 or 2000 discussions? Or is there another way to earn these "points"? I would never find time to write so many responses. And what happens when you reach 100? Do you get a bonus? I've heard you can see your reputation when that happens, is that true? I'm sorry I created a discussion to ask these questions, but myLot's FAQ isn't very clear about this subject.

They have just been here for a while and they have posted or responded to that many posts. You will get a star when you reach 100. Good luck, you'll have a star soon

I got my number next to my name (points) by responding to at least that many discussions. Sometimes, I get a point for starting a discussion that gets at least one response. I've also got a point for commenting on another person's response. At 100 points, you get a star with your rating on it. It reflects what the Mylot community has rated you. 10 is the highest and 1 is the lowest. Most people who are really trying hard here tend to be rated between 7 and 10.

Thanks for the best response. I have just gotten my 10 rating. It actually fluctuates back and forth between a 9 and a 10.

You would actually be surprised how fast it goes up. It is for each discussion, and response. I use to think, man I will never get there. I have only been a member for a couple of months, and I am already up to over 700. It goes up fast. Keep responding, and doing discussions, you will be up there before you know it.

Well, I won't answer this question anymore since so many people have already answered it. Yes, patience will eventually get us to 1000 posts. As you can see I'm also trying hard to get to 500, and that's what I've been doing for this past weeks. So far I'm into replying to discussions, coz I'ts hard to think of quality topics that people would be interested t answer too. So good luck to you also and keep on posting.

Well that total points of post didn't just happen in one day or two but maybe a couple of months. I have been here for almost five months now and I'm near at being at 2000. i don' think that you have to find a large amount of time just to be able to post here. Just whenever you are free or a spare time to relax try to this site. Its also a good way of voicing out your inner thoughts.

I remember making a post when I reached the 100 mark. Then, next thing I knew, I was passing 1000. I think that it gets easier the more you're here. You get used to how things work and it's easier and quicker to respond. Keep posting - you'll get up there too!

It actually isn´t as hard as it looks to get so many posts, well, I haven´t made it to 1000 yet, but as you can see, I am well on my way! That is in just a few weeks, too. If you spend much time browsing here you will automatically find lots of posts that you want to respond to and the numbers just add up really fast! As for the stars, those are ratings. I am not sure exactly how they work since people are always complaining that they are going between numbers, or are stuck at a lower number. I had a 9 for one day once I reached 100 and then it went up to 10 and never wavered. I guess it is a good thing! :)

The number next to their name is how many responses they have responded to and how many they have started. THe star by the name you will get when you reach 100. The number in it is how you are rated. The higher the number is, the better you are rated, I think it is by the quality of responses you give. I am still pretty new to Mylot so I may not be the best for information but that is my understanding.
