My sister is taller than her husband and sometimes she feels funny about it. She tells me she wishes he was taller than her. It's sad that many people accept it better when a man is taller than his woman. Are you taller or shorter than your mate and how do you feel about that?

My boyfriend's taller than me. His height is 5'10" and I'm only 5'3 1/2. so every time I have to talk to him I always loom up and he's always looking down.

Bassically height is decided by hormones but in case of my girlfriend its her shoes , so its she is barefooted I am taller , with her platform heel she is , and so on, actually we do not have much difference in height.

At 5' 11" or roughly 178cm, I am definitely taller than my wife. I am not sure what others say about taller man and shorter woman but it is very hard for me to find a taller woman especially in my country. Anyway, a person height had never been a criteria for me when choosing my partner.

VotreAmie, In our Indian culture when a pair is selected for wedlock, guardian give much importance to the height of the grooms. The concept is female is slightly inferior to male. Thats why she should be in lower in height to her male partner. I astonished that the same complexity also persists in a most advanced country of the world. However, our marriage was arranged one and I am 5" shorter to my mate. It does not hamper to my personality.

I am shorter than my husband. This is good though as when I wear my high heeled shoes I am the same height as him so we look great when we go out.

I'm a bit shorter than my partner. I really don't mind it much. I joke with her about it a lot, making it out to be like it's a big deal. I just hate being so short period. I wish I was a bit taller because it would make my middle fill out a bit.

I am taller than my wife and it is probably true that it might be strange for it to be the other way around. It is just a matter of sociological context in that most males are taller than most females. Anything that is different conflicts with the normal paradigms out there. If enough tall females married shorter males, the paradigm of most people would shift. The key is realizing the reasons behind why it can sometimes be uncomfortable, and confront those reasons head-on. The best thing would be to be able to take the stance that it doesn't matter if other people are uncomfortable with it. Draven the Respectful Atheist http://dravenwriter.blogspot.com

I am taller than my partner, but also I am taller than most people in my country. I am 6'5" (196cm) and probably still growing. I like being tall and it doesn't bother me. It doesn't bother my partner because there really is anything that she or I can do. So we each just have to deal with it.
