I just finish watching King Of Kings and i was wondering who was the first Christian. I think it was Mary, His mother. She had to believe when The Holy Ghost tells her she is carrying Jesus. What do you think?

well, i dont think it was mary, nor john the baptist. the first christian was st.paul. mary, jesus himself, john the baptist, the apostles, all were jews and stayed in their jewish faith. the developed only a modified jewish religion, bit never had the idea to leave the jewish religion and make a new one. first paul was the one who created christianity. remember his struggle with peter about the question, if jesus was the salvation for only the jews or the whole world? so before paul it makes no sense to talk from christianity, christianity starts with paul, exactly in the moment as he fall from his horse on the way to damascus.

I understand your point but I thought that if you believe Jesus was the Jewish Messiah, you are Christian. That is why I thought Mary is the first Christian.

Well, I didnt see the movie, but my first thought would be John the babtist. He believed in Jesus before he started preaching Gods word. Of course maybe your right, Mary knew who Jesus was too.

I think the list goes Mary, Joseph, Jesus himself and then John The Babtist.
