Does Your Husband Change The Toilet Paper Roll?

I am downright flabbergasted. Tow days ago I was so sick of having to change the toilet paper in my Hubby's bathroom that I just left it. What did I find? Tow, yes, two rolls of nearly completely used toilet paper on the counter, and the empty roll still sitting there! Is it something that men are allergic to? Why is it that they can stare and stare at that empty roll without thinking, "Well, gee, it's so easy, all you do is pinch the bar and take off the old roll, put on the new one, and viola! You've got a useful holder so that you don't always wonder where the toilet paper is!" I have found full rolls that fell off the toilet into the bowl - and got soaked - wasted! I have sat down and well, found that i was left high and dry with nothing to use; I've even discovered that the roll was sitting on his computer desk rather than where it should be. Are men daft? Men, please respond! Women, do you have the same problem? What's so hard about changing the empty roll?!

What makes matter worse in my house is, I have placed the toilet paper right beside the toilet!! It he not hard at all to reach down and put a new roll on! But noooooo, the new roll will just be set sideways on top of the empty roll on the little spindle. What the heck??? Because that spindle thingy with the springy thingy in it is really hard to figure out!

No, Not usually, Half the time, My husband can be in the bathroom and call me to get him a roll of TP, and all he has to do is open the cabinet in front of him for a fresh roll. I think that honestly when men get in the bathroom , thier minds go completely blank. I'm surprised they even remmember thier names afterwards!!!lol

My husband does not. he does not like the toilet paper on a roll. But my second son, if it's not on a roll, the tp goes outta control, so i told my hubby he needs to start putting them on a roll. Sometimes too, my daughter will throw the rolls in the toilet, so that's another reason i told him he needs to put it on a roll.

I cannot speak for others, but in every household I can remember, it is the women that are somehow averse to swapping out the TP roll. Moreover, it seems they will do everything EXCEPT change the role. They will take out a new one before the old one is finished, but not replace the old roll with the new role (they just leave the old one attached and set down the new one close by). I have concluded that women simply expect men to perform this task. When asked about it, however, they are somehow at a loss to explain this expectation. It's like they do it subconsciously, as if there is some predisposition in female genes which manifests itself in this manner. My (soon to be ex) gf also uses about 50% of a roll each day, which I think is very excessive. Moreover, she flushes the toilet an average of 3 times per visit. I cannot begin to fathom the environmental impact of such practices. Yet addressing such issues with a woman is like an American politician addressing the immigration issue - you are guaranteed to lose, so you might as well just accept things as is and move on. While one the subject, I'd like to ask an open question: how many of you RECYCLE the inner tube of a roll once all of the paper has been used? It is perfectly good recycling, yet most people simply discard it for no good reason. I guess people somehow believe that a roll which was in contact with CLEAN toilet paper (it doesn't get dirty until after it is removed from the roll, right?) is infested with germs. Tell ya what: I'll change the roll each and every time if: 1. I do not find any old rolls in the garbage, and 2. You wait until your business is all done, THEN flush the toilet.

Yes, I believe men to be daft in the ways of the household. I have a daughter and my fiance and both of them are just as bad. I will just leave the rolls to see how long it will take them to realize hey, I could actually throw this in the trash and replace the roll. They will leave the toilet paper sitting on the counter along with the other empty rolls. That went on for a week until I finally got mad and got rid of it and put the toilet roll on the holder. Then my fiance came out of the bathroom and said "hey, who put the toilet paper on the roller?" I just shook my head and just deal with it.

my husband changes the roll most of the time...he hangs it backward though...i never say anything just flip it around when while i'm using the toilet...the thing that bugs me is when someone leaves 2 little squares on the roll...like that is going to wipe anyones bottom...

Ice cubes - a family recipe that evidently isn't handed down generation after generation!
I don't know about "men" but I can attest to teens having an obvious allergic reaction to touching the empty roll and replacing it! They will actually go to the extent of getting a new roll out and putting it in a zillion other places before just leaning over and taking off the roller and replacing it! I'm not sure what the issue is but I can guarantee that I am the only one in the household that realizes that the toilet paper roll DOES in fact come off for replacement! LOL We won't even BEGIN to discuss the idea of the recipe for ice cubes! This is obviously a long time family secret that only certain members of families get! I guess I was just the lucky one because the recipe seems to elude anyone else in this house!

Augggh! You have the "icecube" problem too?! I wonder everytime I walk into the kitchen. It must be the cats who are taking all the ice trays out and not refilling them! That's it.... *sigh!* ;)

My dad always changes the roll. I think he doesn't want my mom to go into a frenzy because when she does everyone and everything suffers. Now my sisters don't always change the roll and they're another story...

Oh no well I prefer to change the toilet paper in our home as the way that my husband put the toilet paper on when he changss it I do not like it as I prefer to pull the paper from underneath while he likes it on the top. But when my husband lived by himself it was ok he could put it anyway he liked and he would always change it when it ran out.

Oh I thank god that my boyfriend has a brain and he is worst then me about t-paper. if the roll is out he will put a new one in the bathroom and he know better then to put it on the holder the wrong way also. I like my to roll over the top and down not where you have to pull it from under the roll. I have taught him well.

I have come to think that maybe men don't have the ability to do these simple things. Maybe they do not have the coordination to perform this task. My husband doesn't change the roll either. I've also found that he has a hard time opening the lid on the trash can. For some reason he sits empty boxes, cans, etc. on the counter NEXT to the trash can. I'm thinking maybe he can't bend over and lift the flip top lid or maybe he can't apply enough pressure to push it in and throw stuff away.

I want to let you know - mine doesn't throw things away, either. I find everything on the counter. There are two or three spots where garbage accumulates, such as: old cups of 7-11 coffee, empty cans of soda, the flip tops off gallon milk jugs and half n' half cartons, old, used paper towels, and empty packets of Splenda. Every...time..I ..walk..in..the..kitchen, I have to scoop all of this junk up and throw it away! I did make a waterproof sign once, and put it in the spot where the most junk accumulated. Hurray, he'd see the sign, and he'd toss his stuff! Bah. After the sign got so ratty that I had to remove it, all that garbage just started up all over again! ;)

Lmao!! Trust me, this isn't just you! I always have to change the empty roll for a enw one because no matter how much I mention it to my partner, he just doesn't. quite. get. the. point! Heck, even my kids change the rolls when one is empty LOL. Another thing that annoys me is when we buy new toilet rolls from the grocery store. I have a space under the counter right where the roll holder is that I use for storing toilet rolls. My partner however, will put them in the cabinet right across the other side of the bathroom so that if I don't have any paper handy, I have to hobble across the bathroom and back again hoping for the best all the way. I'm going to stick a huge sign on the back of the bathroom door that says "Warning - If Toilet Roll Needs Replacing, Please Do So!" Hopefully, if my partner still understands english, he'll do it lol.

It makes you wonder. My wonderful husband always gets a spare roll ready when he sees one running out, and yes, he does change them over and throw the empty roll into the bin. I heard of one man who was caught while his wife was out shopping. When she returned she found her spare roll of kitchen paper - kept in the same cupboard as the spare toilet rolls - hacked in half. He complained that they'd forgotten to cut them!

My husband will do the same thing...it is like he can't take the two extra seconds to put the roll in the holder, he just sets the new toilet paper on top of the old roll on the holder. I don't want to use toilet paper that has fallen on the floor because you don't know what got on it...dirt or whatever I don't want to wipe with it!! I totally think it is a guy thing because he never replaces it!!

LOL!! This topic is so funny! My fiance does the exact same thing. I have gone in the bathroom to find two nearly empty rolls sitting on the counter. Why they are nearly empty I don't know? It's like they get near the end of the roll and decide to take out a new roll just in case?? I don't know. I seriously try to figure it out and I'm at a loss. Oh and they whole thing about a toilet paper roll being on the computer desk...my fiance does that too. I think he takes a roll in there to blow his nose or something and then just leaves it there. Maybe he thinks he needs a whole roll to blow his nose..I don't know.

No I don't have the same problem, my husband is actually better than me at changing the roll! I am now embarassed to say I am the roll slacker, and usually I wait for him to change it! I have seen rolls fall into the toilet too, what a mess! I guess I better work on it so I don't see him making posts like this about me!
