Is your husband from a different culture/race?

My husband is from the United States and I am from France. We like our differences and we don't have any problems with that. We learn a lot from each other. He taught me English and I taught him French! Are you from the same country as your partner or are you from different cultures?

My wife and I are both from Taiwan, but I was raised in Canada and she in Taiwan. Although we both speak Chinese and English, we do have difference. The way we think, our attitudes are quite different. I have no problems with my wife being different from me, sometimes we have differences of opinions and get on eachother's nerves, but that's all part of marriage.

My ex husband was from Germany and I was from Scotland, he was Catholic and I Protestant. I thought it was great as I leaned to be fluent in German, he already spoke fluent English, I loved learning all about the German culture and my daughter grew up bilingual, understanding different religious beliefs. To me it was an allround winner.

I also wanted to add that I think it is very neat that you and your husband taught each other different languages!

My hubby and I are from the same culture. We were both born in the United States, and both of our cultural backgrounds are the same. We are both German/PA Dutch, and I am Slovak.

I don't have a husband yet but my boyfriend is in the states and I am from Hong Kong. You do write good English! Yes, I love the difference too though it's very different, it's like we continue to learn things from each other. I teach him a bit of Cantonese and he teaches me slangs in English too, I think it's very fun! I don't have any problems with that as well. :)
