Recent research has proved that yoga proves to be extremely helpful to all those women who are going through menopause i.e. in the age group of 45-55 years. During menopause women encounter problems like nausea, excessive sweating, insomnia and loss of will to eat. Research has proven that exercises, yoga and walking are extremely helpful in reducing the symptoms of menopause.

I think I am going through. I am not exactly sure, but there is one main sysmpton. I am interested in your yoga suggestion. I used to do yoga a long time ago, & it is very beneficial for ones health. I don't wish to take any medication for menapause, although I do wonderr if I should have calcuim supplements? I have heard that more calcuim is leached from tghe bones during menapause & osterporous runs in my family.

Yes I would think that yoga could be extremely helpful as we teach our body with yoga to relax more, this information would help a lot of people going through menopause but although I did do this it did not work for me so the doctor put me on a contraceptive pill while my body went through the change and it did work and then after 3 months my body was back to normal with no symptoms.

Yes it works for me in combination with some medical attention and a healthy diet. Yoga helps you to turn back to yourself which in the case of woman going through the change is necessary since your entering a new part of yur life.

Any kind of excersise is helpful - staying active helps to take your mind off "problems" and also keep the blood flowing, circulation. Taking time to relax is just as important so I can see where yoga might help both these areas although I've never gotten into it. Speaking from experience - yes going through as my kids put it "the old lady thing" I've never had a loss of eating but should also mention most women I know will list the biggest problem as the "mood swings" crying one minute and laughing like crazy the next, mad at the world and then loving everyone and every thing. It's really difficult for people around us :(
