My birthday is coming on the 19th and I do not want any more, I often forget how old I am, I have told a few people I was 49 last year and I am only 47. This is terrible when you do not even know your own age,a birthday is just another day to me I do not care to celebrate it. maybe this comes with age. How do you feel about your birthday? I hope better then I do.

It is true that as we get older, birthdays are less welcome. I am fifty two and I don't like to make a big deal, but my family does and when they do I forget how good it feels to be made to feel special. I had a great birthday this year with my family and I had a wonderful dinner and got great gifts. At that point I realize that birthdays are a day to celebrate life no matter how old you are. Happy Birthday to you and I hope you have a great day when it arrives!

For the last ten years or so, if someone asks how old I am I have to count up and figure it out myself. I should just go with how old everyone thinks I am instead of how old I actually am. I'll just say that everytime someone asks how old I am (and I have to re-figure right now) that I'm "24" so far I have had 16 "24th" birthdays ;) The average age someone guesses that I am is usually around 34-35....I should go with that!! lol

My daughter is also celbrating her birthday on April 19th. In case I am out celbrating with her, I hope you have a wonderful birthday even if you don't care to celebrate it. I now only celebrate my birthday every five years. I hope to be getting my free travel on my 65th birthday and I should have been getting my old age pension the year after that but I have to wait until my husband reaches retirement age.

I quite like celebrating birthdays, but don't like to remember/or think how old I actually am when I do celebrate them. I'm 36 and not getting much younger, however I do take each day as it comes, and try to enjoy life as best I can.

I don't think it really hit me until Brenda (my daughter) told me she was already 34 years old and I thought HOLLY CRAP where does that leave me. All my daughter had to say was 56 and yep I'm 56. I don't mind getting old because the way I see it is like this. Old age is a privilage not everyone gets in life.

This is bad one day I was talking to my twin sister. I said I was "48 years old". She said I do not know about you but I am only 46. I came back to her and said "My husband had a stroke and that aged me two years." Not all of us can keep track of our ages. Age is only relative we are as young as you feel. Some days I feel 90 years old.LOL

Birthdays used to be a lot of fun for me. I enjoyed celebrating with all my family and friends. Unfortunately, this isn't to be any more because I moved overseas. Nowadays I tend to celebrate quietly with my partner and my children. I've said time and again that when I reach my 30th next year, I'm going to spend it sitting and crying lol. I guess for me it's a sign that I'm not that small girl anymore with the streak of dirt down her face. I'm an adult with very real responsibilities and that makes me feel old. I hate feeling that way.

I am 65 and my birthday is Dec. 25 so people forget it is my birthday as well as xmas day. When I was a kid I used to get upset if people didn't say Happy Birthday now I want them to forget.

well happy birthday hun. i turned 30 this year and trust me i was not a happy person. hubby laughed at me for it too. i was depressed for about 3 months then what he said made sense and i didnt worry about it. he told me that i dont act like it, dont look like it, and dont dress like it, and i still do things that i did when i was 19 so therefore dont worry about it. we dont do anything specail for mine and his birthday ever. its just another day to us. now the kids it is different. dont worry about age and all some poeple that are 18 act and look like they are 40 and i know a 62 year old you would swear was 35. age is just a number it is what you do that makes a difference.

I stopped celebrating birthdays after I became 15 so it is a long time ago. Now I know if someone gives me a present just any day of the year, they do it because they want to, not because they feel they have to. The same principle goes with Christmas presents, I am completely free from it too since I learnt where that celebration really comes from. If I give a present, I do it because I want to do it and can afford it.

I'm afraid that I feel the same way you do. It's just another day. I do not care to celebrate my birthday. Which is just as well since it's not something that was ever celebrated. Just tell people that you are 39 and holding. LOL

I agree with Wachit14 that birthdays are a special day for you to celebrate and be happy for your existence. It really doesnot matter whether you're 49 or 47. But somepeople hegitate to tell their real age and try to deduct some years. It's really funny. Why people like to be younger. Age adds experience. Don't forget that. And if you told 49 people must have thought wow she is still so charming. I can guess you're charming by seeing your photograph.

I come to this world on my birthday. My mother celebrated it for me when I was 20 years old, before that, I am not care much about it. Now I would like to treat my friends in my birthday, thanks for their help and care. It seems like a happly little common party.
