Do you buy un-needed items just because they are sale?

I KNOW!! I mean, I work at the craziest consumer-driven place in the world, Wal-Mart, so I should know about extremes and let customers I see set an example for what NOT to do, and to limit myself on this behalf... but I think I am one of the worst out there! Last night, I went to the fabric department and had 10 .25 cent clearance apple and cinnamon sachets in my hand for my chest of drawers at home. I only had 8 bucks in my pocket, cat food to buy which I would have had to go skrimpy on if I had bought those things, and besides that I have perfume AT HOME ALREADY to make my dang clothes smell pretty! So I tossed them back in the basket and laughed at myself. I did go to Walgreens and buy 15 Arizona teas because they were 2/$1 but those all got drank. So I guess I have more control over the sales hunger within than I thought...

i am not an impulse buyer at all. although i love to get things on sale, i don't buy things i don't need because they are on sale. the only thing that i love to buy alot of when i see it is on sale are things that i am always using like toliet paper, paper towels, toothpaste, deoderant things like that. now i will buy that stuff in bulk when i see it on sale. with a house of 6 people you can never have enough.

"Impulse Shop" ..... Oh, hell yeah! I think I should own Best Buy as much money I drop a week in that store:-) That goes the same for Home Depot. Tools & electronics, I have it all. The funny thing is I don't even know how to use half of it. LOL.

I am deffinatly sales crazy. But only if they are really good value. I frustrate myself when i come back with those of stuff that, granted, where a bargin, but i tecnically didnt need so in the end it was wasted money.

Yes I think it is a common habit to buy things not needed if we are getting it cheap.Though I don't buy things that I previously had but other things if I am getting cheap then I definitely would buy them.Many times if I go in a sale then I just forget the thing which I wanted to buy and will buy a totally unnecessary thing which I am getting cheap.After coming home I will always promise myself that next time I will never look at other things and always go for the thing that I needed but in vain.

I do this alot with kids stuff like clothes and stuff, ill buy ahead seasons if they are ona super sale that you cant pass up. I love to shop and have an addiction to it.

No, although I have a relative who will buy things that she thinks are cute and save them all up until Christmas, at which time everyone receives at least 30 presents from her. It's a bit overly generous, in my opinion.

Nowadays, sale are everywhere. Most of the shopping stores are going to announce they are "on sale". But practically, I am not attracted to it. Why? because it's there gimmicks that they are on sale just to attract people to buy even though they don't need it. It's an advantage to those people who have extra money for they can buy things they want. But for me, i will go to "on sale store" just to see what's inside. But if I need to buy things, I will wait for that occasions so you can pay as low as the regular price. I am practically say this because, money now is very hard to earn, and spending it is so fun to do.

I will buy an overload of groceries because they are on sale. If I want my boyfriend to cook I normally will buy hamburger helper. This week it is a dollar abox buy 10 an get the 11th free. Since this item is normally a couple of dollars a box I bought 22. If I can get a real good deal on electroanis and clothes that I know we will use then I do buy a one or two extras when I can get them at a good deal.

I don't. I only buy stuff I need that's on sale! If I don't need it, I don't buy it generally speaking. A few times I may have bought something I didnt technically need (like another baby outfit for my son, couple of extra boxes of cereal because they were on sale) but nothing outrageous, and I would never have 5 toasters! I do know some people that are like that. Probably not as extreme, but wow, some people can shop!

I ALWAYS impulse shop. I never ever make a list and half of the time I come home with everything but what I actually needed. My husband does not like it a bit. If I go to the store I have to look at everything before I actually pick up what I went for and he says I take way too long. He tries to do most of the shopping now.

No, but I think it's some kind of trick psychology their bussiness. An human usually have the desire to buy and having all the stuff in the world even if that stuff is useless. But I think we can handle that by looking the reality and more concern about the future.

I love sales (I mean, really love), but I'd never do that. I only buy what I need and am happy just because I got that one item cheaper. There's no use buying several of the same items just because they're on sale, you're just wasting money that way.

I've had no choice but to tame that impulsive streak in me lol, just because our financial situation isn't fully recovered yet, although we are getting there. I used to love going to sales and regardless of what something was, if it was a great value price, it went into my cart. I've actually given a lot of stuff away that I just never found a use for lol. I drove my partner insane coming home with more useless things all the time lol. He's glad that I've tamed that impulse spending habit.

This is just what happened to my wife only a few hours ago! She already had a cellphone to purchase in mind, and we went to the store to get it, but as soon as she saw another model within her budget, but a bit costlier than the one she originally wanted to buy, she changed her mind and bought that other one instead. The store clerk said it was on sale and was a lot cheaper that it was last week. But then, I actually encouraged her to buy it since it is our 10th wedding anniversary today anyway, so it's kind of a gift to her.

i like to buy something on sale, but im not that maniac, i only buy something that i need, what i usually buy on sale is clothes and shoes, what do you buy on sale? im not too crazy to buy 10 same thing only with different colours, :s
