There are so many things that they teach in these sorts of classes that are simply the teacher's personal opinion, and have little basis in reality. That statement assumes that the people interviewing you are aware of all the hidden meanings of colors, body language, and other things that have nothing to do with the applicants skill and qualifications, which is what the interview is supposed to be based on. I think green makes people look hideous if wearing green under florescent lights and that is a better reson not to wear it on an interview!

You would think that would be a plus in this "out to make money world" we live in. I haven't heard anything about not wearing green before. Most people don't anyhow. They wear the basic colors blacks, grays, whites, blues.

I've never heard not to wear green before. I have heard green is the color of money. I usually just wear a nice dark neutral color.

wow, I never heard of that. So if you wear red, does that mean that you went in mad? :) just kidding. I have never heard of a color meaning anything. Personally I think that it is all on the personality. Good luck though on finding a job.

Well, over here, colour isn't a great thing to be concern of! The concern is, the attire you are wearing, is it suitable for the job? Make up too heavy? You don't smile enough or may be too much!

It makes sense to me. I think that for job interview basic black always work. White blouse and black jacket always work as well.

The truth is on any given interview it could be the glasses your purse or color of your hair or the fit of your clothing. That turns an employer off. Even a name can be a disqualifier. Seems a hopeless task however we have to keep trying to sell ourselves when we get gifted with an interview. Red is a power color if they didn't tell you that. Good luck if you are looking for a job.

Superstitious lot. Maybe she/he had a bad experience on the dress he wore the day he had an interview or something & blamed it on the color. Funny whoever said that, i guess that helps break the ice. Always look smart & clean has always been my guide & appropriate as well. I've interviewed a lot of people who are so dressed to kill for the position of a janitor, store clerks, washers, etc. though so to speak there nothing wrong as long as it does not smell but they look too far out & especially if the size too big or too small. Just a bit of fashion 101 maybe will do.
