the thai government is running a crackdown of websites deemed insulting to their king, and our favorite youtube is one of it. youtube was blocked in thailand because of a video that mocks their king. but i'm wondering.. why are they blaming youtube for the video? i seriouly doubt that youtube admin ever wanted that video. i guess their only fault is that they weren't able to immediately check the said video. another thing is, why didn't anyone report to youtube about that video being a mockery to the thai king? isn't there any concerned member in youtube? there are thousands of videos in the youtube archive, and i don't think youtube admin can check all that. its just sad that they are being blamed for some disrespectful member's video, resulting to a total blockage to a whole country..

sometimes people make us of the net to express their "entire" freedom. but we forget about responsible freedom. i think the one who did that video should be the only one blocked from youtube not youtube itself. that's sad since there are lots of good videos on youtube to surf about. maybe it's a lesson learned from all of us. there are those who mock and make fun about other people. there are those who make fun of our government officials and even the presient herself... celebrities and other well known people. just sad that we have to come up to that stage where we think that we're just practicing freedom when if we look deeply into it, it's no longer freedom but it's more of a shame to ourselves to get too much into that doings. i just hope that youtube in thailand is just in temporary blockage. and maybe after sometime, it will be restored there as well.

lets just hope for the best.. hopefully those in power realizes that blocking the whole nation does not resolve the issue. in fact, it makes it worse because of the curiosity it brings about. it makes people wonder how that video caused the blockage of a whole country, making them actually look for that video..

It's sad that the blame had been put to youtube. I also think it's not their fault and indeed, they really might have not wanted any part of that clip in the very first place!! As for the Thai government, the blockage of the youtube wont stop the movement against the king.. If the people are mocking the king, they will continue mocking the king with or without the youtube...

yeah.. i guess thats one thing they haven't thought about.. blocking youtube in thailand doesn't make that much of an impact to youtube. in fact, it just makes youtube more popular, and people, as curious as they can be, would definitely look for that video. making more people view that video..

the true and honest man is able to laugh at himself when it seems impossible to do so, without humour many situations would be much less fun, the king should learn that some people may mock him, but to to take it in not respond and maybe laugh, if it funny will make him a better person.

woooww.. thats deep.. but i agree.. they shouldn't take things too personally. thailand locals respect their king. but they also should be aware that there are some who do not. specifically people like the one who posted the controversial video.
