I have been a nail biter since I was a little girl, I have tried and tried to grow my nail but I just can't. I don't wear those long salon nails either. Do you wear the salon nails grow your own long nails or bite your nails like I do. men do you bite your nails, cut them, buff them or are they dirty from work

My Nails Right Now - My Fingernails
I don't bite my nails and I never have. I just can't stand the thought of doing that! I wouldn't know what could be stuck under my nails. I grow my own nails because I also can't stand the fake ones, I always end up ripping them off! They don't grow really long though because the always end up breaking. I love to have polished nails but I have a bad habit of leaving my polish on long after it is chipped. People often ask me when my nails are freshly done if they are real:)

you know how to keep your nail looking good although, as you say, they get easily broken. it is good that you do not have this nail biting problem.

my hands are usually comfortably clean. i always cut my fingernails short. i never bite them at all. i brush them with soap and water to keep them clean because, i use them to eat and in carrying out many chores, my hands are always in use.

Definitely not. I think it is quite unhygienic and I am glad I have not picked up this bad habit. :P Don't you think it is so "sinful" to wear your nails so think? :PP

no I don't think wearing nails is sinful, gosh, when you have people killing each other and all kinds of horrible things why would wearing nails be sinful.

I bit my nails when I was growing up until I realized that, Ugh, there are just too many nasties under your nails to put them in your mouth! I have small hands and they look like a little kid's hands unless I wear acrylic or gel nails. I didn't wear salon nails for a long time because I was afraid of all the damage and threat of infection. I found a salon where the owner is very conscientious of hygiene (every regular customer has their own box in which is kept their personal brushes and files) - I've never known a salon this careful and attentive. I wear a natural color and comfortable length - they look too nice to bite! You know, if you don't want any extra length, you can have your natural nails wrapped in silk or gel and they would just grow to a uniform length that you like, you don't have to have the tips added. Nicely cared for nails are appealing on a man or woman. It just shows that you will make that extra effort.

Sad to say but I am it is a habit both my mother and grandmother tried to break but couldn't so I still do it to this day especially if my nerves are up..I don'y wear long salon nails the one time my brother took me to get my nails done professionally I had to be mighty careful how I wiped after using the bathroom...OUCH! Hubby loved them though..I had them tore off within a week. I wasted money yeah but heck I was taking all the hide off everytime I scratched myself and writing and typing was not a good idea.. so the ycan keep their falsies..I'll keep my stubbies.

I have been a nail-biter for as long as I can remember. I have tried nailpolish to stop myself, but I end up eating my nailpolish. LOL I don't want to try fake finger nails, because I know I'd end up biting them too. LOL Also, I'm used to short nails, and I'm afraid that longer ones would only get in my way.

Well, i was back when i was young. But thankfully, i've gotten off that habit now. I guess that's probably because am so busy in work, and all that now, that i just dont have the free time, to sit back, bite my nails and worry or think about things. Life really changes with time. Seriously, at times when i look back at those old times, i miss them, but then, this is just another phase of fun, too. And i would not like to miss the experience! Anyway, it is unhygenic, that's true, so you should try to get rid of that habit!

When I was younger I use to bit my nails. Then one day I just stopped . I was so excited and my nails looked so good. Well recently I started to bite or pick at my nails again. I just want them to be long and pretty again so I am trying really hard to leave them alone.

I bit my nails until I was in college. I can't wear the fake nails, not even nail polish. I can't seem to keep them all the same lenght like my mother or pretty like she does either. I'm glad I can grow them at all, but I have to be sure that they don't snag on anything or I'm bitting the snag again.
