Pet peeves of the day

I left work yesterday to find a car parked about three inches from my driver's side door. Why do people park like that? For one thing I have a Jeep Wrangler and the doors swing wide, and when someone does this, I am always afraid of scratching or nicking not only my car but the car next to me. I also have bucket seats which makes it hard to enter the vehicle from the passenger's side. Another pet peeve of mine is people not returning grocery carts to the front of the store, or even putting them in one of the convenient corrals placed there for that use. I can't tell you how many times I exited a store to find some lazy person didn't put their cart away and it had rolled up against my vehicle. When I arrive at a store, if I see a loose cart I always push it to where it belongs.

Well if everyone had your views carparks would be a much more pleasant place. The things you mention annoy me as well but my biggest pet peeve when driving would be drivers who don't know how to drive through a round a bout properly, so often I am behind someone who sits and the round a bout and waits for cars....well that's what it seems like anyway!

I am not sure how to respond to this, since I don't even know what a round a bout is. LOL

oh yes it drives me crazy when people dont take care of their carts..my grandma used say your awfully lazy if you cant even push your grocery cart back...some people have no common courtesy when parking anymore..they are in such a hurry that they dont care if they are to close or crooked or to big for the slot...and it is annoying not to be ablt to open youir car doors without hitting the car next to you...although truthfully sometimes i think it would serve them right if someone did leave them a big dent or scratch as a thank-you

I thought of doing that, but I don't want to damage my vehicle. Besides, I try not to be vindictive, maybe that person just doesn't know how to park. If that is the case, they need to park where there are no other vehicles. The funny thing is, I suspect it was another employee, since it was parked where employees park.

i dunno dlkuku, some people just doesn't care at all...they think they've got servants everywhere, and carwise, they think they own the road or any hard cement they step on..there are really "some" people like that, no cares at all. i hope they learn their lessons someday.

I have to agree with you regarding people who park so close to the drivers door that it is hard to get in. It makes me furious when they park like this. As for the grocery cart issue. I actually started a discussion regarding this. I always put the cart in the corral if I don't have any children with me. I often go shopping with 2 young children (both under the age of 2) and I have to put them in the car and then put the groceries in. I don't feel comfortable leaving them in the car while I put the cart away, so I will put the cart up towards the front of my car. It only takes a second for a young child to do something or for a stranger to steal a child. However, I do bring a loose cart into the store if I see one when I arrive.

I do agree with you. It makes me angry when I come back and I can't get in my car, especially that I'm a plus size. It is not easy to try to squeak yourself in and still have care for the lousy driver. I also don't like when there is a car behind me and who would keep on honking his horn just to pass me. As if I was blocking his way and he is in a lot of a hurry. You just want to scream sometimes, "go ahead the road is wide, what are waiting for". And another thing I don't like, it is when sometimes a person sits or lean on your car even though they know there may be someone in. Such an act of impoliteness. And looking into tinted windows and use them like mirrors. Not really funny when you're still inside your vehicle.(^^,)

Oh, I have so many pet peeves! I hate it when people park crooked, take the time to straighten out! And my biggest pet peeve is tailgating! I am not going to go any faster if you are an inch away from my back end, but I may slam on my brakes a little...

When someone tails gates me, I get impish and slow down as much as I can. It really irritates them usually, I can tell by the way they zip around me as soon as they get to a passing zone. Of course, there is the worry that if I have to stop fast that they will hit me. But then the law here says you are automatically at fault if you hit someone from the rear, you must be in control of your vehicle at all times. If someone is just a few inches from your bumper, how can they stop fast enough not to hit you? I think if people used common sense and didn't tail gate it would cut down on a lot of accidents.
