I've HAD it with Blogcharm!

As many of you know, I have a blog on Blogcharm that is about children's issues. I chose Blogcharm because they pay you a small amount of money every time you update your blog and every time someone else reads it. April was going to be an important month for my blog, as it is National Child Abuse Awareness Month. I was planning to write about differnet child abuse related issues all month, and had many of my articles planned out already. However, something has gone wrong with my blog, and for the past week I have been unable to update it, edit it, or anything! When I go to my management area it just gives me an error message! I tried clicking on "Contact Us", for help from the Blogcharm administrators. The button led me to BlogExplosion, which owns BlogCharm. I submitted a "Help Ticket" to BlogExplosion telling them of my problem. I recieved a message saying I would hear back from them within 48 hours. Well, a week later, I've heard nothing! And I still haven't been able to do anything with my blog! I am thinking of switching to another blog service. I'd like to find another one that pays, even a small amount. I know I'm going to have to start all over with finding readers and everything, at least until I can get into my BlogCharm blog and make one more entry leading people to my new blog! Bummer, isn't it? Does anyone know of any blog services that pay?

You can try blogchex. Look at my site: http://blogchex.com/theworkingmom . You can sign in through the link there. I would suggest, though, that you still keep your blogcharm account and maybe make them both "mirrors" of each other, so that if one site is down, you can use the other.

Oh, if you're joining under me, it might be best to join under the text link on top or on the side, if you want to give me the credit of referring you, that is...I think the banner does not give me credit. But it really is up to you if you're joining under me or not :)

I haven't been able to even get to your blog and I promised you a review several weeks ago. I was looking through my "to do" stuff and saw that I had not done the review for you yet. (My apologies) When I tried to go to your site so that I could see what was currently there, the blogcharm login page came up and will not let me in. I requested my password and they say my username doesn't exist! I'm thinking of switching to blogchex for another blog. (I actually asked for a referral for blogchex on mylot, but no one ever gave me one. Please let me know when you get a new one so that I can do the promised review. And if you do blogchex, I will sign up under you. I added you as a friend so you can let me know.

I'm sorry you're having such problems, but it's not really surprising. When you depend on a site to send readers your way, to generate income and then give you a share, you're at their mercy if the site goes down or if they change their policies. The attraction of sites like that is that they do a lot of the work for you, but they also take most of the profit. If you have a topic that's attractive and can get good readership, you're better off with a blog on a regular blogging site like Blogger or blog.com, or buying your own domain and hosting your own site, then doing your own income generation. It may take longer, and you'll have to work harder, but you don't have to worry about having your blog fall a victim to someone else's problems. There are a lot of sites like Blogcharm, and they don't all succeed, and when they fail, they take a lot of people with them.
