what is it?; part one

I decided to try something interestning, every few days im going to post a pic of something strange and i want everyone to take guesses at what it is. You are welcome to take as many guesses as you wish. Every day i will check the answers and the correct answer gets best response. Im not going to make it easy though. Some days it may be something outragously wierd, or it may just be a picture with most of it blocked out or one particular part zeroed in on. This should be fun. Good luck, heres the first one.
