What is a good digital camera out there?

I am planning to buy a digital camera and need some advise? I am looking for a camera with replaceable lens, with macro and take good picture at nigthtime.

How much do you want to spend. I bought a Canon Rebel XT. It is an 8mp camera and is great for low light photos. I take night football photos with it. The price is very reasonable now that the Canon Rebel400 is out. you can probably pick one up for under $700.

It's a great camera but I don't have a budget for it. I'm looking at Canon Powershot S2 IS which is within my budget.
