I was just writing some checks to pay bills, and I was wondering. Do people still write checks. So I decided to ask everyone. Do you write checks to pay your bills, or do you pay your bills online.

I pay some bills with a check. Others I do pay online. Whichever way I pay, I try to be careful. When I write a check, I do it with a gel pen. The ink from a gel pen isn't supposed to be able to be washed off by thieves that steal checks and "wash" them so they can re-write the check to themselves or someplace else. Gel pens are pretty cheap. Think I paid a couple dollars for two of them at walmart. If I pay online, I make sure it's a secure place and the little padlock is in the lower right corner of the screen showing me it's a secure site.

Well I never write cheques anymore. All our payments are made online with Internet Banking, or are set up with the Bank through Direct Debit, or Standing Order. Very occasionaly, we may phone the Bank and makea one-off payment that way. I honestly can't remember the last time I wrote a cheque!

It depends what it is. If I can pay online, I will. Just so I can save on stamps. Some things I still send in the mail and other things, I can run to the bank. My car payment is through a local bank so I just run the payment through the drive thru of the bank and don't have to worry about stamps or it getting lost in the mail.

They say old habits die hard so I pay very few bills online. I pay whatever bills I can at the post office and I prefer to pay them by check and get a printed receipt for them. I keep the receipts in a filing cabinet and that way if there are any discrepencies later on, I will be able to produce the receipt as proof that the bill was paid.

I pay all my bills on lines. That is why my handwriting is terrible.

Is it easier to keep track that way?

I usually opt to pay my bills online whereever I have the facility provided to pay online, otherwise need to pay by check is always a second option. I found paying our bills online is the easiest job we can do an without making any extra efforts, all those waiting line of ays for the check to be cleare. Also, the biggest advantage of paying bills online that I feel is we can pay that by the last day LOL.....

I pay almost 75 percent of our bills online. Another 15 percent is automaticly done by the company itself (charged monthly). For me, it is a lot easier to go online and you can check/review all the payment you have done instantly. I hardly go to the bank unless it really important. So, less hasle with the paperworks and lining up and save a lot of time.
