are late night snacks bad if you are trying to keep your weight down? i get really hungry late on in the evening and tend to eat the odd snack. i am trying to lose a bit of weight at the moment do you think snacking at night will prevent me from reaching my target weight?

Well i think the odd late snack wont do any harm (unles its perticually unhealthy) but eating late at night is a big no no as your body wants to relax and not be digesting while your asleep. I've always been told you should have your last meal at 6 if you really want to push loosing weight and eat no later and 8pm.. ever. I too enjoy late night eating so when i jsut can;t resist the urge, i have low cal ceral bars stocks up for such a time so i dont go for something unhealthy. Hope that helped.

Just make sure you eat something with very little carbs. Peanuts are a quick and easy snack. But you want to get the low sodium. Because if you eat too much sodium, it will just make you retain water. And no, they recently came out with a study saying that eating late at night is not bad. Because your body slows down at night, so does your digestive system. So, when you wake and your body speeds back up, so does the digestion.

Yes late snacks are bad for you if you are trying to lose weight. If you think about it when it is late night you are generally just sitting around watching television, playing on the computer or reading a book. So whatever you eat stays right on you. You are getting no exercise at all. If you must have a late night snack what I eat is either popcorn, or some kind of vegetable or fruit. I wish you good luck in losing your weight. It can be done.

I love to eat at night,....but I don't think it is good for me!! I try to avoid it if I can but I love to read in bed at night and snack on something =) But I guess if you don't pig out it is okay...I just can't stop myself once I start =)

Water will make you feel full. The next time you feel hungry just reach for that glass of water instead of those calorie laden snack food you have. You are just probably slightly dehydrated because sometimes our system mistake thirst for hunger.
