Responses that are not appropriate.

Do you ever get responses to your discussions that are not appropriate or have no bearing on the subject matter? I recently ran into this, the same person responded twice to one of my discussions and what he wrote had absolutely nothing to do with the subject. It was just weird. What do you do in that case? Do you report it?

i truly understand you, coz i had some responses as well which are not related to the one i've discussed. i think they are the ones who are not interested in what you're writing but is just interested on the money earned by answering. it's annoying. i just rate them negative.

Thanks for commenting. I agree it's someone who is just out to make money and not taking the time to read or respond accordingly.

I've had this problem a few times. It depends on what exactly the person said but usually I'll just give it a negative for being off topic and not reading the original discussion. If the response is inappropriate in the sense that it violates the guidelines then I'll report it. This would include things that are abusive and/or nonsense (the ones that just type in a bunch of letters or a jumble of words with no actual meaning).

Well this response had absolutely nothing to do with the topic, it looked like something that was copied and pasted. Thanks for your response.

I have not ran into this yet in my own topics but i have seen it in other's. I will rate it negatively if it is totally off topic. Actually the only things I rate with a negative are personal attacks and total off topics. I leave the report of abuse to the topic starter. But I think it really sucks because I know the majority of us here really like to express ourselves and it kind of nagates the whole thing when someone is copy pasting the same response into every discussion or attacking someone personally.

Thanks for your input. It was so off topic, I just shook my head. I figure it was someone who didn't read the discussion at all, and was just out to make a buck.
