The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) gave the green light to Global Media Arts (GMA) and Solar Entertainment to air the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Jorge Solis scheduled on April 15 as chairman Benjamin Abalos declared that the sporting event is exempted from being considered as a campaign advertisement since the match will be aired around the world. Pacquiao's opponent in the elections, incumbent South Cotabato 1st District Representative Darlene Custodio, earlier appealed to GMA, Solar, and COMELEC to ban the airing of Pacquiao-Solis particularly in SC District 1's jurisdiction, especially Pacman's hometown of GenSan. According to Abalos, the Pacquiao-Solis match is just a sports game and should not be used politically.

still, he's getting free publicity for it, right? anyway, honestly, i can't believe he's running for public office. i don't mean to be mean, but running a government is far from being in a boxing ring, isn't it?

though i cheer for pacquiao to win the fight. i am not a big pacquiao politics fan. if you would ask me, he shouldnt be running in the first place. if he wants to help the people, he should give away money, he has a lot of it anyway..
