Someone please help me. I got an e-mail that said that my discussion was against mylot rules and it was going to be removed and all my points taken away, plus the points for those who had commented.
Now, if I post something I'm not supposed to, I understand that. I try really hard to follow the rules.
Here's my question. I've had 2 discussions removed.
One was a recipe! For Caramel apple dip. It was one that had been given to me by my grandmother. How is an apple dip recipe against the rules?????
The other one was for a link to a free sample of toothpaste!
I read through the rules, and I don't see anything about helping your neighbor get a free tube of toothpaste. If I'm reading this wrong, someone please help me. because I am confused.
There are many recipes on here, as well as many discussions about sample products and where to get them.

I too have been the subject of unfair removal of a discussion. Who sent the email and it should be communicated with Management. We believe that there is a rogue moderator and this may be the case. Good luck with this. You could always post it in the yahoo group we have for sharing what is forbidden in guidelines that are suggestions. Let me know what happens. Good luck!

I would not mention that y group too often, someone said they got a discussion removed about that topic awhile back. Maybe a power mad moderator is correct.

Well, nothing happened, I sent a letter to the powers that be asking about it, and I've gotten NO response.

I wonder if someone just decided to complain, because I have lots of friends who post lots of recipes. I did not read that particular discussion, but if I were going to start a discussion of a recipe like you mention, I would start out telling a story to go with it. I am confused about the sample thing, and I responded to it. Another way to do that would have been to start a discussion saying how much you like free samples and that you have posted a link on your profile to get a free sample of toothpaste. That is all I can tell you about it. Just always make sure that there is some way to respond when you post something in a discussion.

I try really hard to do that. Maybe I fail at it miserably. I went and read the profile of the man that sent me the e-mail and he says that he's reported dozens of "rules violations". I asked him to show me the rule that I violated with the toothpaste link, because I wasn't seeing one that said anything about not posting free things.

I have read many posts about topics being removed. Sadly, I have lost posts when this happens and quite a bit of money. I read your recipe post and couldn't see any problem.

The thing that upsets me is that I try to be honest and open, and really don't know what I did wrong. I can't find anything in the guidelines that says this can't be done.

What are mylot rules. Even I'm not sure what they are and which of my post will be deleted. I have gone through their guidelines twice thrice but didn't helped me. May be they should state everything clear in their guides. Not only you even I'm also confused so don't worry friend feel great on mylot and post whatever you want. I forgot to tell you that I was threatened of beinf banned too. lolz

why? I've not seen anything that you've posted that would make someone ban you. People need to get a life.
